A special announcement from the National Reemployment Service headquarters this week informs us definitely that our reemployment office will be consolidated with the Vernal office, with Roosevelt as the new location. When warning of this move came two weeks ago, much concern was made evident at the Gateway Club Banquet and it was determined that everything in our power would be done to forestall the move. What Either do? did we went men business Duchesne’s to sleep on the job as is so often the case, or they do not know how +o do things very well. Anyway, the office seems to be going, “whether or no” and we might just as well save our breath and “grin and bear it.” ’ It might be well to remember the incident next time something important comes up, however, just to see if Duchesne cannot unite on something once again, and put it across. In spite of the official statement that the change was made after a nine months study of employment needs, a close scrutiny of the situation would seem to indicate that some} _ political strings must have been pulled also. LET'S GO SWIMMINGin | _ At present the pool is standing partly filled with stagnant water, old sticks, and plenty of insects. It should be drained, all the sticks raked out, and if possible a little sand scattered in the shallow part for the kiddies. Duchesne has the opportunity of making a mighty fine thing of this pool. The swimming hole in the river is a constant worry to parents, and the danger can be greatly lessened if this pool is put into shape for use. BROUGHT TO TIME : quickly identified, traced and apprehended. There was considerable comment around the county about the foolishness of spending money on such a futile What a shame it would have been, had we failed to do our part and let this man, if he is the murderer, go unpunished. | MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS Seeing one of the test papers for the operator’s licenses being filled out today, brought home the fact of how little most of us know about the Motor Vehicle Laws. Most of us know what should be right, and can answer most of the questions from general knowledge, but when it comes right down to knowing what the law requires there is room for considerable doubt. Let’s read the Law and know it. in Duchesne in company Tuesday with W. D. Price Powell and this week. wife went to They will bring a new piano back with Bishop Wm.
