Wendy Wythe is a Feng Shui professional, instructor, and designer. She is certified in Feng Shui and is a Red Ribbon Member of the International Feng Shui Guild. Her passion for design and the healing arts led her to create her Feng Shui business Wythe Designs, which is inspired by her strong family connections and her natural desire to help others live a better life. Strong intuition partnered with her experience and education allows her to see clearly into the needs of each space, the people who occupy the space, and their intertwined dynamics. As a project manager, real estate stager, interior designer, and instructor who has been in the business of art, real estate land development, and design for over 30 years, Wendy empowers her clients and students with evaluations and workshops that help them identify parts of their lives where they can improve their well-being through the principles of Feng Shui. By teaching others how to balance and Wendy Wythe harmonize their lives, homes, and working environments, Wendy guides her clients and students to uplift their chi energy life force and nurture a positive connection with family, friends, coworkers, and community. Guiding others on how to accomplish effective changes for their bright and successful future, she provides a safe, comfortable, clear path through her consultations and workshops. While working with her clients and artists at Wythe Gallery, Wendy realized she loved helping people transform their space with attention to detail. Her experience as a stained-glass master working with color, design, and lighting in homes and offices finetuned her instincts. She adds that managing her family building and land development business gave her a deep understanding of the proper use of land and building placement and how to honor both the needs of the occupants and the natural beauty and flow of the land itself. Having witnessed the transformative powers of Feng Shui, Wendy says she is committed to sharing with others her knowledge and new ways of seeing the environment in which we live. Wendy states, “The world we now live in has changed dramatically in the past few years. More of us are working from home offices and coordinating with our family members in new ways. Maintaining a harmonious balance in our lives and environment has become a challenge but is essential for wellbeing. With the use of Feng Shui, we can not only raise our vibrations but help our world community be uplifted by our contribution in maintaining positive energy.” What goals are you pursuing now? Powell has released a new book titled, Finding Purpose, which has been awarded the Reader’s Favorite Award. It is the first book in a fourbook series called the Mylin Valley Series. Ogden Valley residents may find the setting of the book of particular interest since it is loosely based on our beautiful valley. If you’ve read the Tending Roses series by Lisa Wingate, you’re sure to love this series, which focuses on community, family, and helping people and families who deal with invisible diseases. In this book, Heather Fletcher, a young woman who owns a horse rescue has to navigate helping an eight-year-old special needs child and a traumatized horse who turn life upside down for her. Is her expertise in training horses and a newfound interest in neuroscience enough to help them or will they all be trampled in the dirt? For Heather, life in the small mountain town of Mylin Valley couldn’t be better. She has a family who loves and supports her, a community who embraces her, and a successful horse rescue ranch. But when Xavier, a young boy with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Littlefoot, a traumatized horse with an uncertain past, show up on her ranch in the same week, Heather finds meeting the needs of both might be impossible. A rift in her community, and trouble at home leaves Heather with little help. Could her deep-rooted knowledge of horses, combined with her new interest in brain science be the answer she needs to overcome the challenges she faces? What Early Readers Are Saying about Finding Purpose Pikasho D. wrote, “A touching slice-of-life story that follows the members of a workingclass family as they navigate life, Finding Purpose perfectly demonstrates how following your dreams can lead to discovery of your true purpose in life. Despite the overwhelming challenges faced by Heather, she is undeterred in her relentless pursuit of helping others, even at the cost of great personal risk and alienating her loved ones. “Author Angela E. Powell tells a moving tale that pulls at your heartstrings and makes you introspect. The narrative flows by like a gentle breeze. I found the characters downto-earth and highly relatable. Heather’s relationships with her friends and family provide the narrative thrust to the story, and you find yourself rooting for her almost from the getgo. Highly recommended.” Get Your Copy of Finding Purpose A hard copy of the book can be purchased on Amazon or Barnes & Nobel, or you can purchase a signed copy directly from Angela’s website at angelaepowell.com/fiction. Ebooks can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, Kobo, Apple, and anywhere else you purchase ebooks. Powell has been writing her whole life. Taking notes, journaling, writing poetry, stories, blogs, dreams, and lesson plans—there’s never been a time when she wasn’t writing in some form or another. In 2013 she married her husband Craig and became stepmom to a child with a disability. In 2017, the focus of her writing started to change. Going from, primarily, non-fiction, to fiction with a focus on mental health issues. Her own journey of learning how to help her son created a passion for learning about brain science and mental health issues. Interestingly, the more non-fiction books she read, the more she desired to write fiction as a way to more easily explain the things she was learning in all the non-fiction books she was reading. About that same time, she co-authored a book with a friend who was going through trauma counseling for things that had happened to her in her childhood. The book they co-authored together was about those same experiences and was published in 2019 with the title The Fire Within the Cult. It was the writing of this book, and the research and reading she was doing on brain science in order to best help her son, that helped her realize she wanted to write stories to help people better understand invisible disabilities. This is how the Mylin Valley Series came about. When she isn’t writing or reading about brain science, Angela homesteads with her husband on their 3+ acres of land in Huntsville, Utah where they keep eight chickens, two goats, three cats, and two dogs. You can follow their homesteading journey on Instagram @JulBudRanch. |
