By being his own man, Mulhare wont be following Rex Harrison when he has the lead role in Gidget Grows Up. Mulhare followed Rex on Broadway in My Fair Lady, which he also performed in London. Actually, I did more performances in Fair Lady than Rex, Mulhare said during a telephone interview. I had followed him earlier, however, when I took over the role of Prof. Henry Higgins in 'Pygmalion,' on which Fair Lady was based. Also, the Ghost and Mrs. Muir TV series is taken from a 1947 movie by that title that starred Rex and Gene Tierney. The film was a favorite of mine, but I didn't copy any of the characterization for the TV series from the movie. I cant remember it that well. I don't know wfiy Rex and I get the same roles. Were not at all similar, except that were both tall and long faced and speak English in the English manner. He and I play parts so differently, and I happen to be 20 years younger, but I dont mind being compared to him. Ive known him for a long time. I dont know him well. I dont think anyone knows him well. But Ive always admired him. I consider him the greatest light comedian in the world. Talking about the role of the Ghost, Mulhare said hes always been fond of ghosts and fairies at the bottom of the garden. Fairies in the Irish sense, he added. I tend to believe in g.iosts myself, but only to study. I haven't been called on by any yet, but from time to time I have been awrare of atmospheric changes. 9 90 BIRTHS AS REPORTED PEARSON Deseret News Television Editor Boone was one of about 40 Tuxedo Stolen New 'Gidget' Film, Football, Basketball, Yearend Reviews iiiiiiiiniiiniiiiiinuiiinimiiiiimiinnimnuimmnnmiUHiimm Utah State Prison inmates freed by Federal District Judge Willis W.
