Manning of A!i r a, Canada, Dec. 14, 1932 Delivered the dedicatory address and prajer of he McKay Ward edifice. Wells Stake in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dec. 16, 1933 Presided, conducted, and spoke at the funeral sen ices for Elder Matthew Cowley of the Council of the Twehe, held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Dee. 14,1334 Spoke at dedicatory service of the David O. McKaj" Building, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. President Stephen L Richards deliv red the dedicatory address and prayer. Dec. 18, 1933 Gave an address over CBS entitled, Joseph Smith The Source of IDs Greatness, commemorating the Prophets 150th Anniversary. Dec. 17, 1958 Dedicated the Church College of Hawaii in sen ices held at Laie, Hawaii. In 1921, wait on the world tour of missions with Elder Hugh J. Cannon, President McKay atg tended a ceremony of the school children at Laie. Dec. 15, 1961 flag-raisin- In a short senice held at dawn. President McKay cut the ribbon stretched across the opening of the State Street entrance of the underground garage, and officially announced the opening of the new Church Parking Plaza. Dec. 13, 1967 Received a courtesy visit from Dr. Aziz S. Atiya at which Dr. Atiya reported his discovery of the Pearl of Great Price papyri in the New York Museum of Art, and events which led to the presentation of the papyri to the Church. Dec. 17, 1967 President and Mrs. McKay watched on color television the 2,000th consecutive weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word by the Tabernacle Choir. Dee. 19, 1968 Received in his apartment Archbishop Iakovos, primate of the week Orthodox Church in North and South America. The Archbishop clasping President McKay's hand said: I again express gratefulness for what you and the Church have done for my people in Greece and for our people here in Salt Lake City. Dec. 21, 1968 Watched with interest the television reports of the heroic space travel to the moon of the three astronauts. Dee. 13, 1969 Went to ninth floor of Hotel Utah for a panoramic view of the Christmas lighting on Temple Square. When be saw the 100,000 lights, he exdaimfd: Oh, isnt that beautiful ! He then expressed a desire to see the tree in the lobby of the hotel. Many people in the lobby came up to shake hands with him, and he responded saying, Merry Christmas to you!
