The building program has developed to a point that many employment opportunities are available ir. the South and Central American mission areas. Qualified builders with supervisory experience, who speak the Spanish language are needed at several locations. It is difficult for a builder to communicate and work effectively with the local labor if he does not speak the language. For this reason we need men who are both skilled as construction supervisors and who can speak the Spanish language, said Horace A. Christianson of the Church Building department. This is a salaried employment Xov. 12, 1968 Dedicated Las Veg.K 2rd Uaid buPding, Moapc, Stake, Nevada The Church is experiencing considerable growth through the missionary program in the areas of South and Central America. Many new buildings are needed to keep pace with the membership grovvth, and to injure the full program of the Church to the members. Dr. Richard O. Co'ven, blind professor of Church history at BYU, wrote a letter explaining that on Tuesday, Nov 5. 1968, President McKay reached a milestone of equaling the previous record of length of service as a General Authority held by tiie late Pres. Heber J. Grant, who served a total of 62 years and 210 days when he died May 14. 1945. Pres. McKay eoualled that length of spiviee ust two months after he had passed his 97th binhdav, Sept. 8 sit- uation for three year periods. Housing is provided and educational opportunities vary with the situation, he said. Builders, who are interested, are invited to investigate the opportunities bv contacting Vauehn Belnap of the Church Peisonnel Department, 19 West South Temple St., Salt Lake City, Utah S4111. . 1968. Pres. McKay already held the honor of living the longest of any of the General Authorities, w hich longevity record was made about 3 months after his 93id birthday late in 1966. Xov. 13, 1968 Announced the erection of the temple to be built in the Washington. D C. area. Xov. 9, 1969 The Presidents sister. Joel Ricks, arid her husband visited with Piesident McKay today.
