The Utah pilot of a light plane that crashed near here last killing four, radioed he was having engine trouble shortly before he crashed. That fact was disclosed today by Lt. Malcolm Miles of the Cococino County Sheriti's Office, who said pilot Harold Bowers. 60, had a series of conversations with o her pilots in his Mexico vaca.ion Fii-ria- v party. "There were varum. conversations between tte four pianos as they headed for the Mexican border." Miles said Bowers was ahead of the other planes because he had a faster aircraft." The dialogue in regard to engine trouble took place between Bowers and Alton L. Bunnell, East. Sait Lake City. Bunnell was about 20 miles west of Winslow, Arizona at the time, Miles said.
