Eagles Open Camp Deseret News Special KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA Veteians and rookies, all apparently armed with desire to make the initial unit of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles hockey club, officially reported to the Eagle training camp here Sunday. Trainer Howard Adams completed physicals, owner Dan Meyer welcomed the 36 players (four otners were due m camp today) and coach Ray Kinasewich started working to Sundays opening exhibition with San Diego at Vic toria, B.C. Most everyone is in tremendous said condition, there is just a Kinasewich, handful who could lose a pound or two. This is certainly the trimmest camp Ive been associated with. Most men are dedicated to making the team, added the Eagle coach. Kinasewich planned to split the squad to two r shifts and slated two practice sessions each day 20-m- one-hou- this week. After the sixth checkpoint the going got rough to the tune of a steep 800 foot hill studded with stubborn sagebrush and loose rock. Several cycles broke down. Riders were off pushing their bikes the last half mile to the finish line. Answer Friday San Diego Padre Minor League Director Pete Bavasi has scheduled a press conference at the Salt Lake City Ramada Inn at noon Friday.
