Rowland, 31, is a graduate of the University of Utah where he took his bachelors degree in education and physical education in 1959. He will receive an M.S. degree in June in the two fields. Following graduation he took a teaching assignment at Logan Junior High prior to taking a similar post at Glendale Junior High in Salt Lake. He has been a coach at West for the past eight years. His cross country track team won the Utah state title In 1966 with his wrestlers winning the 1969 title lat winter.
