This Mission President Is X A Cowboy s Cowboy ' RAPID CITY, S.D. ;I Harvey A. Duhl is a mission president who wears cowboy boots. ' He presides over the Northern . Indian Mission, which covers six midwestern states and includes the Sioux, Arapahoe, Shoshone, Omaha, Winnebago, Chippewa and Northern Cheyenne tribes. President Dahl sits very tall in the saddle in the eyes of the Indian people. First, because he is a great leader and second, because he is a tall, lean and handsome cowboy's cowboy. There are 80,000 Indians in the mission area, of which 2,500 are members of the Church. The Indians need economic help as much as spiritual help. A man who isn't working and who isn't head of his house isn't a very effectise priesthood holder, Pres. Dahl said. Our aim is to build men to be good ranchers and farmers, head of their homes and good priesthood holders. The Indiana have good land.
