Show Soft Courses Out at Utah n Olpin States SALT LAKE CITY Dec 11 (AP) — There aren't any soft courses for athletes at the University of Utah according to Dr A Ray Olpin university president Dr Olpin made the statement at yesterday's monthly meeting of the university board of regents Athletes he said are required to take the same classes and meet the same academic Standards as other students Dr Olpin also disclosed that the grade-poiaverage of the Utah football squad is not as 'high as that of the student body as a whole But he added "we have nothing to be embarrassed about as far as scholarship is concerned" He said the football squad average is 229 compared with 241 for the student body as a whole He did not state for what period the figures were compiled but added the athletes seemed to make their best grades during the period of Dr Olpin athletic participation said some universities have courses labeled "for athletes only" There aren't any of these at Utah he declared The
