Show school exercises held during week splendid class graduated from high school following a very successful years work in J te resting programs given the closing exercises of the tin Us high school were conducted during the early part of 0 the present week commencing with the bac ca laureate sermon at the M L church on sunday night then class day exercises at the high school auditorium on monday evening tol fol lowed by the commencement haer aises at the same pla place ce on 1 I night baccalaureate sermon on sunday evening the pupils parents and members of the faculty met at the social house of the M I 1 church and at 8 0 clock after ahr th deop people le had been seated the pupils marched into the edifice the mu program under the direction of mrs C C griggs was a very en on one the choir being accompanied by dennis Thir lault cornet and lawrence knowles and francea frances sutherland violins rev rey mcdonald delivered a power ful sermon going to the 2nd epistle of peter 1st chapter and verse tor for his text it if ye do these things ye shall never fall fail the church was decorated artia artis by the sophomore class class day exercised i for the class day exercises the program as published last week was carried out without change being followed by a banquet served in the domestic science department of the school robert clark acted as toast master and brief talks were made by prof I 1 L williamson Wllliam son prof wells miss stoddard and jesse fulmer of the student body commencement exercises the high school auditorium was again filled to overflowing on tues day evening when the commence ment exercises were held the pro gram was one of the finest ever ren dered in eureka the address by rev rey P A simpkin of salt lake city be ing both masterful appropriate and eloquent principal R V smith delivered a pleasing address to the graduates and the diplomas were presented by superintendent I 1 L williamson Wllliam son the rhe musical part of the program in i eluded selections by the ladles chorus and the boys chorus a pi ano solo by miss nora fnlund a vo v 0 f if al at solo by miss helen shriver miss 1 cecil higginson was valedictorian and miss elena hassell assell II salutatorian invocation was offered by rev rey james mcdonald and benediction was aronou pronounced need by E IV redmond the past year has been a very successful one for ill the e tintic gintic schools and especially the high school where i 31 class of twelve pupils was bradu abed as follows william robert dark clark george ful jesse hunt fullmer cecil virginia hannifin jennie elena has cecil higganson eugene V hill man edith may mathews julian alan ray leland potts me kinley quay simons and don dori carloa carlds wheeler jr |
