the two outstanding facts resulting from the visit of the members of the box elder commercial club and representative business men of this city to logan last tuesday evening not a single item was waa overlooked in the entertainment arrangements of the boosters boasters Bo club committee and immediately upon arrival the visitors were infused with tile the spirit of 0 the occasion and made to feel perfectly at home at the meeting later in the evening some of the things which the boosters boasters Bo club has stood sponsor tor for and put across were enumerated and it makes a record of achievement that must and does make the heart of every member swell with satisfaction and pride B tween forty and fifty citizens from Drig harn city made the trip the first autos getting under way from the club rooms in tills this city about 3 and the last load loft left by tour four thirty practically every car negotiated the distance between the two cities in a trifle over an hour so the ride was exhilarating upon arrival at the bolsters boosters Bo Do club rooms at logan a committee was waiting wailing and after a number of ct brigham autos pulled up started on the run to the tha city spring which Is located several miles up in the canyon this wonderful spring the old dewett spring Is discharging a flow of water of 25 5 second feet and it is clear as a crystal cold as lee ice and per cent pure the spring has been enclosed with a cement wall and rooted roofed over so that the sun never strikes the water until it flows from the house and lawn taps down in the city to see that mass of water boiling up from the earth with a hissing sound like an immense cauldron cauldren caul dron ot of soda effervesce ing was a sight loll 1011 long to be remembered at the lower edge of the spring which covers a triangular plot of ground and necessitates three wings to tho the house covering it the water drops over a cement weir in into to a e cement sump connected with the big ei pipe line which conducts the e entire antl r stream some little way farther down dawn to the distributing plant where fifteen second feet of this beautiful water is turned out into the creek as the pipe will be distributed into the city water mains vor for the time being the water is running direct from the pipe line into the city mains this magnificent water system astern un the best in tile the state aal perhaps in tills this whole intermountain section will cost when the reservoir is completed when tho the proposition was first promoted it IE met with great opposition from many ot of the citizens rf ct logan but enough sentiment was tor for it to vote a special tax of to make the start recently a bond issue of has been all but unanimously voted to the reservoir and install a perfect distributing plant which together bilth M ith about which will be realized from taxation this tall fall will give to logan a water system which will be an asset worth a million lobai lol lo lai lais if it I 1 Is worth a cent and tills this profet was proposed and set in motion thru the efforts of the boosters boasters Bo clib to whom was given hearty cooperation by the city administration after inspecting tile the water works system the entire company drove down to deletts grove where a number of gentlemen had hot coffee staining on camp campfires fires and a table eden laden with sandwiches tomatoes and water melons the luncheon was served a la cafeteria and was eaten standi standing ag up to the accompaniment of felicita eions and expressions ot of admiration and wonderment on the part ot or tto tio brigham crowd after tho return trip to logan was made with the boosters boasters Bo club rooms as tho objective jec tive an animated meeting was held which was addressed by a number of 0 logans representative citizens and responses were made by a number dumber of the visitors from tills this city the spirit 0 of f good fellowship aud and cooperation was the theme and pledges were made for a more hearty cooperation in promoting the interests which affect the tha two r communities and it was pointed 0 out ut that tho the interests of one community are the interests ot of the other so that a close association in fix these matteis and a wholesome whole spirit of tellow fellows shio bio must characterize everything that Is done it tile the greatest progress is mode made vocal numbers were rendered by denson parkinson of logan and waldemar call of salt lake some of the things which the does boos club has been instrumental tal in bringing about in logan is the election erection of one of tile the finest hotels in tho the bbate it took time and patience hut but finally capital was interested and today the city has a hostelry that very fittingly would v grace a community man handsome spacious and right up to tile the minute depot street paving was instigated by this live club with the result that center street running from tho the 0 S L depot to two blocks enst east vl of main street has been paved aud and parked and presents Is j a magnificent picture to the visitor who comes to logan and impresses him bim with the fact that a live community makes up the municipality main alain street is paved from the north limits of the business district to the north island boundary line and right now the ea entire street south to the river bridge near johnsons park rs being paved before this work was set in motion the Bo boasters boosters club sent 1 a I committee to visit every important city between logan and canada to study street paving and gather data which was later used in giving that city a street pavement that is anex celled extensive sidewalk curbing will bo be put in throughout the residence district and as fast as the means will permit street paving will be continued street illumination has not been overlooked and the main thoroughfares fairly blaze with light the there is not the sign of a pole of any kind in the center of the streets and in tile the outside districts the light poles run along the sidewalk curb logan installed a municipal light plant a few years ago and has been competing with the big light corporation in furnishing light for its citizens the battle has been a hard fought one but the city is winning out as the people awaken to td the fact that cipal utilities are arc investments and a blessing to every community served and then one by one the auto loads pulled out tor for home most of the crowd from this city arriving home before midnight no accidents occurred a jolly spirit prevailed and the splendid
