An ideal enticer for kite flying enthusiasts! High schoolers arent letting any of the younger brothers and sisters get ahead of them at mastering kite piloting. The huge lawu surrounding high schools in the area provide ideal runways for anyone who has the inclination to take a stab at the sport. And the Bountiful Braves have indeed had the inclina- tion this week. An impromptu call for kite lovers brought an army of Braves out on the front lawn to fill the air with the paper flyers. When the crowd got big enough a race was organized and Julie DESERET NEWS, Friday, March Johnston and her dragon kite won. Few students met with sue-cess at kite piloting like Cluis Carlson. Her airplane kite went easily aloft for her and stayed while the rest of the students huffed and puffed back and forth on the runway. If there had been an award 21, 1969 available for the hardest try, it would have to go to Joan Lambert. She didnt get her kite to fly but she was the last kite- to give up despite eating b ees and signs.
