Visiting with Mrs. Fern Mellor last week were Dean Wilkes of Brigham City and Brandy Benter of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reutlin-ge- r and baby daughter of Bennion were weekend guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Avery. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Christensen Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Robins and sons Byran and Lynn of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nielson and son Eric of Cogana Park, California and Weldon Christenson and son Nathan of Salt Lake. Adam and Brandon Moore of Orem visited last week with their grandparents Ivan and Bessie Mcl-lo- r. Friday they took the boys and went to Salt Lake to their sons Kirk home and John and Karen Moore and son Michael joined with them 528-793- 2 Auroras oldest resident, Clarissa Sorenson age 100 passed y and they all enjoyed Friday and Saturday together. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Har-ro- p spent the weekend in Ogden visiting with family members. Visiting with Floyd and Lorraine Thomas from the 3rd of November to the 7th were their friends Joe and Ceceile Bates from Orting, Washington. Lorraine was in Salt Lake over the weekend for her grandson Steven II homecoming and to hear him report of his mission. He served in Soa Taulo Brazil. Friday Lorraine will fly to Seattle Washington to watch her six granddaughters participate in a fashion show they are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. DeVries. Ruby Hammond visited Sunday through Tuesday in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Stacey Hammond and family, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tree and family and with Mrs. Gladys Simms. Thursday and Friday Marion and Vivian and children visited with Milton and Ruby. Sunday visitors at the Hammond home were Mr. and Mrs. Lavor Jackson of Moroni. Gunnison News Helen Rasmussen - 528-322- 1 Mr. and Mrs.Craig Hone are the proud parents of a baby girl born on October 17. She was the first baby to be born in the new prenatal wing at the Holy Cross Hospital. On November 6 the Pearl and Nathana Hone attended fast meeting where Craig blessed his daughter and gave her the name of Joy Eileen. This little girls grandparents are Charles and Vanessa Nelson of Sandy and Pearl Hone of Mayfield and she has a great grandmother in Salt Lake City and a great grandmother in Ogden. Kenneth and Michelle Nielsen are very happy with the arrival of their baby daughter bom at the Gunnison Hospital on November 10. She will be named Shaylee. Grandparents are Don and Colleen Nielsen and Kenyon and LaVon Jensen all of Gunnison. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sorensen also attended this special occasion. Neva also visited her daughter Mary Thompson and family in Kearns. Diane Peterson has just returned from a nice trip to California. She visited with Richard and Christine Camarillo and Zarchary in Garden Grove, California. Then she visited with Manek and Doris Kassa-buaand Kristorpher and Tony in Racho Palos Verde, California. Doris .. and Diane flew back to Las Vegas where they met another sister Barbara and their mother Vonda Bogh. The Registrars office at Snow College reports that in addition to the regular college students, another 200 students from Central Utah high schools are participating in concurrent enrollment programs at Snow. There is a great diversity of students at Snow College, said college president Dr. Steven D. While most of our stuBennion. dents come from Sanpete county area, Salt Lake, Utah and Sevier areas, there are students representing every county in the state as well as 1 94 students from other states and twelve from foreign countries. About three fourths of the foreign students this year are from Japan. Many out of town family members and friends were here for the funeral of Olga Larsen. Olga was a longtime resident of Redmond and will be missed by all. Visiting with Bonnie and Randy Andreason was Randys brother, Rick and a friends from Provo. Relief Society was held Tuesday morning. No major upsets in last week s election Sevier Countys Republican candidates were again in the majority as last weeks General Election results were finalized. Local races saw Incumbent Tom Christensen, Republican of Venice, elected to serve another term in the Utah State House of Representatives, as he garnered 2952 votes in Sevier County and 1593 votes in Emery County, for a total of 4545, to Democrat opponent Steven Player, Annabellas total of 3304. Sevier County Republican Commissioner Jerry Nice was reelected to serve in the four year Commission post He received 4,634 votes to the 1286 for his opponent. Bill Laird, of Austin. Richfield Republican Jay F. Gardner came out on top of opponent Clair Rickenbach, Glenwood Democrat, with 3329 votes, to 2692 votes. In Sevier District School Board races, Jerold N. Johnson, of Aurora came out with a narrow margin ahead of his opponent J udy Oldroyd, of Glenwood, for Precinct No. 4. Johnsons vote totaled 582, while Oldroyd garnered 570. Precinct 4 includes Glenwood, Aurora, Annabels, Venice, and Sigurd. Precinct No. 5 including Salina, Redmond and Koosharem, saw incumbent Ross Marshall, of Salina, Coming out ahead of challenger Michael Jorgensen, by 125 votes - at 625-50Incumbent Utah S tate Representative Joe Moody, came out ahead of challengers James DeWyse and Shana Rae Grant Senator Cary Peterson retains his post by accumulating 4393 votes, to Henry Willesons 1317 in Sevier County. Sevier County voted against all three initiatives, but was in favor of the two propositions. 7.
