Accent on People Wendy Shaw, John Herrin Mormon Tabernacle Choir to perform at Snow Nov. 5 will marry I Wendy Shaw and John Herrin have chosen to be married in the Manti LDS Temple on October 15, 1988. At this time, the grooms son, Chad, will also be sealed to the couple. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Herrin, of Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. Therron Shaw, of Aurora. An Open House will be held in their honor Saturday, October 15, 1988 from seven to nine pm. at the Aurora Wards Cultural Hall. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple will make their home at428 East 8400 South, Sandy, Utah. John is an employee of the Salt Lake City Postal Service. ( First Birthday ) celebrate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of Snow College, on November 5, 1888. Tickets are still available for both concerts. Call Snow College for more information. Helping him celebrate are his brother Darin and his sister Melissa. He is the son of Kelly and Kathy Frandsen of Centerfield. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Redge Hermansen of Gunnison and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Frandsen of Centerfield. His great grandparents are Mrs. Mary Hermansen of Gunnison and Mrs. Aleda Christiansen of Mayfield. Lola Blanch will celebrate her 80th birthday on the 15th of October 1988. She was bom on the 24th of October 1908 in Redmond, Utah to Joseph Franklin Christensen and Georgena Andrea Sorenson. She married Ferdnand Clement Crhistensen on December 23, 1931 in Manti Utah. She is the mother of 5 children 2 daughters and 3 sons: Darlene Christensen of Salt Lake City, Mrs. (Virginia) John E. Kagie of Centerville, Robert Clement Christensen of Manti, Jerry F. Christensen of Salina, Franklin L. Christensen of Centerfield. Blanch has one sister May Beatrice Christensen, Centerfield, four brothers: James Franklin Christensen (deceased), Denzel John Christensen, Salt Lake City, Melvin Christensen, REdmond and Earl Milton Christensen, Centerfield. Blanch has lived in Center-fiel- d all her married life where she and her husband Clement farmed and raised their family. She has been active in the LDS Church in the Primary, D.U.P., and as a visiting teacher. She enjoys her family and her 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She really enjoys working in her yard. Elder Freeman will serve Elder Rycham Kent in Free- man has been called to serve in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. New Presidency at the Manti Temple The Manti LDS Temple has a new presidency that includes Earl R. Olsen, President: T. Lund Leonard, First Counselor, and Milton H. Tew, second counselor. Mrs. Olsen will serve as temple matron, and Mrs. Leonard and Mrs. Tew as assistant matrons. President and Mrs. Olsen were ordinance workers in the Manti Temple from August 1977 until October 1978, when they moved to Salt Lake City. They were sent to Nigeria, West Africa by the International Mission and served there until February 1981. UPon their return to Utah they were ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple until April 1983, when they were sent to the Atlanta, Georgia Temple to help train people prior to the opening of that temple. Mr. and Mrs. Olsen are Emery County natives who made their home int he county, where he was a miner and farmer until his retirement. Mr. Leonard held several church positions in Huntington as a bishop, high councilor, ward and stake Sunday School superintendent, and officer in both the Elders and Seventies quorum presidencies. Released as the Manti Temple presidency were Mr. Burton and his counselors, Wilbur P. Lund and Lloyd K. Schlappi. and Brigham Young University and then obtained a masters degree from Purdue University. He will enter the MTC on November 2, 1988. It will be the choirs first visit to Sanpete County since the national bicentennial concert on temple hill in 1976. A varied program of musical selections, including some traditional favorites will be sure to please the expected large audience at both the afternoon and evening concerts. The programs for both concerts will be identical. Jcrold Ottlcy will lead the choir, and a brass ensemble from BYU will assist in the accompaniment. Free general admission tickets are now available by visiting the Continuing Education or Activity Center box offices at Snow COllege.
