Valuable information was presented pertaining to wills, joint tenancy, living wills, etc. A publication entitled Utah Senior Citizens Handbook was available giving a guide to laws and programs affecting Senior Citizens. If you missed the potluck dinner the evening of May 26, you missed an outstanding event. The dinner was delicious. The program was the Vocal Exchange from Ephraim. Peace, Love, Light Ron Nielsen, Springtime and early summer give us all the urge to break away for a few days after a long routine winter. Vacations are a healthy reprieve to refresh and rejuvenate. resiSome of our long-tim- e dents at the Care Center are expressing these same feelings. And why not? If any of our patients are able to get our for a day or two, or three or four, that affords a good refreshing from their routine. The vacation, or Leave of Absence we call it, is a therapeutic leave for better physical and mental well being. If you have a loved one in the Care Center or homebound, do your best to get them out for a little fun and excitement, a refreshment from their routine. We all need it. We all enjoy it form time to time. Under the state Medicaid Program through Social SErviccs, a patient in the Care Center may take therapeutic leave for 12 days a year under doctors shown to be a treatment plan. approval. This has valuable, necessary I thought you should know this so you would know its okay for a vacation for those who are in under the Medicaid plan. Medicare patients are not, as a rule, granted this leave time, since their stay int he CArc Center is usually less than 30 days for rehabilitation. There is another thing to consider if mom or dad, grandmother or grandfather are living with you and need constant care. You may need a vacation from each other. If the folks cant go on vacation with you, the Care Center might be a good place for them to be for a little while. You will recall from my earlier articles that we have Day CAre for up to 44 hours stay, or Residential CAre for several days. Residential Care requires that an individual can pretty well take care of themselves with supervision, and the cost is about d that of regular nursing home care. Well, its vacation time, so lets everyone who can take a leave from the daily routine and have a little change, a break away, so we can get refreshed and ready for another great year. one-thir- Wildlife June events During the month of June the following events are planned by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. 1987 Big Game Harvest Sumbe available at DWR ofwill mary fices around the state.
