Show Wednesday April 27 1994 THE RICHFIELD REAPER-- 5 A Region DUP Convention Draws Area Members MONROE — The Monroe h LDS Ward building was the scene of the Sevier County Daughters of Utah Pioneers Convention that brought together more than 30 women from various area DUP camps First-Fourt- 1 Visiting dignitaries included Louise Green Midvale International Society DUP president and Inger Burke Salt Lake City DUP docent trainer The three-hou- r meeting was spearheaded by DUP County President May Hardy Mrs Green said "Monroe reflects beauty a caring community that your Mayor Kirt Nilsson should be proud of" She also spoke during a meeting saying camps should follow up on members who are not attending their meetings and told of new DUP procedures to be followed Participating in the 9 a m to noon sessions were members from DUP camps of Sevier North Sevier GIORGIO ARMANI Central Sevier South and Wayne County The Marysvale group is currently working toward affiliation as a camp Participating were the Bryce Canyon Rainbow Warriors This group has traveled throughout Europe with their folk crafts for three years Their intricate Indian craft demonstrating Indian history was displayed on a long table Ruth Newby county vice president made and distributed 150 key rings in the Indian motif as gifts to each participant Mrs Hardy took the two distinguished guests to the William Cordingly relic cabin on Main Street where they saw some of the vintage early Americana furnishings which are under the DUP county president’s jurisdiction The Cordingly home Mrs Hardy noted was built in 1866-6- 7 when the pioneers moved westward establishing homes in Monroe formerly OCCHIAll Chamberlain-Thornto- n MONROE — Miss Janelle Lee Chamberlain will become the bride of K Richard Thornton Saturday April 30 in rites to be performed in the Manti LDS Temple Miss Chamberlain is a daughter of Kent and Judy Chamberlain Monroe She is a 1987 graduate of South Sevier High School She served in the Philippines Bacolod LDS Mission She is a 1994 graduate of Utah Valley State College with a degree in nursing Mr Thornton is a son of Arland and Shirley Thornton Ann Arbor Mich He served in the Okayama Japan LDS Mission He is a 1994 of Brigham Young graduate University where he majored in economics with a minor in Japanese language The couple will reside in Virginia where Mr Thornton will be employed with the Federal Reserve Board Washington D C There will be an open house Apnl 30 from 7 to 9 p m at the Chamberlain residence 713 West 4(X) South Monroe All friends and family are invited to attend The finest qualitg in designer sunglasses!
