Coming from Richfield Sunday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Christensen, were Mr. and Mrs. John Knight and three children and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Knight and three children. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Jorgensen, Salt Lake City, visited with Mrs. Zina Henrie over the 4th of July weekend. Beth and Ella Huntsman of Lake City visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Huntsman, over the weekend. Salt Spending the Fourth of July weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Graham were their gathered at the Lindsey Gardens in Salt Lake City for a family reunion. The group enjoyed reminiscing, discussing geneological work and getting acquainted with new members who have joined the family circle. Dr. G. Alvin Carpenter, youngest son of Patriarch J. Hatten Carpenter, who will soon compile a book on his fathers life, read excerpts from his writing on that life. France Puenzieux went to Mayfield Thursday and Friday to welcome her daughter, Heidi from her vacation. Leslie and Heidi Good just returned from a trip to Europe. They toured Germany, Italy, France and spent most of their time in Switzerland where Heidi and Leslie visited with Heidis father and grandfather and other relatives in Switzerland and France. They really enjoyed the trip and enjoyed bringing news to France. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Carpenter had a surprise visit on July 4 from their son Carl, his wife Marcia and three children, and from their daughter Ruth and her husband, Dale Johnson. and Mrs. Waite Hickman and daughters Caren and Susan. They accompanied Mrs. Denisons daughter Sharon and family to Salt Lake City June 19 where they took a nonstop flight to California via Western Airlines and landed at the International Airport at Los Angeles. Here Mr. and Mrs. Fount Sorenson met them and took them to Mrs. Hickmans home in South Gate. They left June 22 for a tour through scenic California and Oregon. At Junction City, Ore., they visited with a son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Hickman and camped at beautiful Lake Odell. Another attraction was the Avenue of the Giants, where the giant Redwoods are found. Mrs. Denison and Mrs. Sorenson returned to Manti from Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Foote of Layton, on July 2 where they were welcomed back by relatives and friends here. The Hickmans will visit with relatives in Utah before returning to their home in California. The David Halls family recently returned from a trip back east that included 23 states and the District of Columbia. One of the highlights of this trip was a visit with Mr. Halls sister, Linda Gibson and her family, who live in Downing-towPa. While there she took the visitors to Ben Franklin Institute, Valley Forge, Hope- - Mrs. Louell G. Sorenson and Mrs. Lenore G. Denison have returned to their homes in Manti after a two weeks vacation touring the Pacific Northwest with Mrs. Sorensons daughter and family, Mr. well Village (an early foundry) and the Hagley Museum (where the du Ponts got started making black powder). A tour of the Getteysburg battlefield was also made before leaving Pennsylvania. A visit to Williamsburg, Va., proved very interesting in that people were doing many of the colonial crafts. Some of these crafts were basketmaking from white oak strips, sliver smithing, candlemaking, gunsmith-ing- , and many others. After the crowds and heat of Washington, D.C., the quiet, peaceful feeling of the Washington Temple in Kensington, Maryland, was enjoyed. The Halls children especially enjoyed the visit to Marineland and Disney World in Florida. In Disney World they especially liked the electric parade down Main Street. The floats were made up of small electric lights which covered them. Each float had its own music that blended with all the other floats. A beautiful fireworks display coordinated with music ended a fantastic day. On the way home a stop was made at the home of Mrs. Rose Davids mother, in Halls, Ridgway, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Kent (Jane) W. Parker and baby of Downey, Calif., were guests at the Bart Peterson home during the past week. The two families traveled to Ovid, Idaho over the July 4th weekend for the naming of Jane and Kents new baby. Grandfather Alma Peterson and several other relatives and with the friends assisted ordinance. Dinner was served to 24 close relatives at the Peterson home later in the day. Mr. and Mrs. George C. Willardson had all members of their family in their home for a dinner last week. Dr. and Mrs. Arthur (Carol) Willardson and six children, Rialto, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn (Carol) Gottfred-so- n and three children, Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris (Helene) Willardson and three children, Ephraim, were the guests at the Willardson home. Mrs. Roxie Mortensen went to Mt. Pleasant on Sunday to be present for the naming of her new granddaughter. Kathryn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee (Debbie) Mortensen, received her name and a blessing from the hands of her grandfather, Burt Seeley. Amy cousin, Kathryns Dawn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Seeley, received her name during the same services from her father. Roxie served dinner to family members on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon (Marcia) Christensen and six children arrived from Escondido, Calif., on Thursday. They are dark-haire- d staying at his mothers home and visiting other relatives and friends. The annual Ephraim Seniors excursion to the Utah Pageant of the arts took place on Wednesday evening in American Fork. This is a highlight of the years events for many members, and must be seen to understand what it entails. Life size portrayals of famous paintings, sculptures and other beautiful works of art are shown in frames or on stage, with live models in appropriate costumes taking the parts of the persons represented.
