Show Eagle Scout Dinner Slated at BYU Obituaries Jack W. Palisade District Boy Scouts who earned their Eagle badge during 1976 have been invited to attend the 21st annual Utah National Parks Council Eagle Honor Banquet Jan. 25 at Brigham Young University. The banquet will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. It will feature as main speaker BYUs new athletic director, Dr. Glen Tuckett. Each Eagle Scout will be taken to the banquet as a guest of a man who is in a business, profession or trade that especially interests the scout. More than 350 boys who earned their Eagle last year will attend from throughout the council, which stretches from Utah County south throughout the state and east to Colorado. Susan Landau Shand Funeral services for Jack W. Shand, 61, who died January 16, 1977, at his home in Manti of a heart attack, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1 in the Manti Center-Nort- h Ward chapel. Burial will follow in the Manti City Cemetery. Friends called Wednesday evening at the Buchanan Mortuary and can also call today prior to the services. Mr. Shand was born December 29, 1915, in Manti to John W. and Velinda Graham Shand. He married Ruby Bardsley February 1, 1945, in Center-fiel- He was a bombadier captain and squadron leader in World War II, serving overseas. He was past commander of the American Legion Post No. 31 in Manti. He had been a farmer and turkey raiser. At the time of his death he was a supervisor at the Manti Post Office. Mr. Shand is survived by his wife; two sons and one daughter: Davie J., stationed with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines; Joe B., Manti; Mrs. Randy (Susan) Larsen, Ephraim; three grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Paul (Jackie) Blackham, Manti; Mrs. Harmon (Beth) Stringham and Mrs. Glade (Vera) Allred, both Bountiful. Funeral services for Susan Sumsion Switzer Landau, 78, San Jose, Calif., and a former resident of Ephraim, who died Jan. 14, 1977, were held at the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Springville Monday. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Landau was born Jan. 22, 1898, in Springville to Henry L. and Phoebe Barlow Sumsion. She married Clyde A. Switzer. He died. She married John A. Landau. She is survived by a brother, H. T. Sumsion, San Jose, and sisters, Mrs. Dora Davis, Mrs. Vera Sumner, both Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hilda Kump, Rupert, Idaho, and Mrs. Clara Christensen, Kenilworth. who stepped into his new position last summer, is a nationally known baseball Annie Lotcry Funeral services for Annie Suzan Cloward Lowry, 92, who died Jan. 10, 1977, in Salt Lake City of causes incident to age, were held Jan. 14, 1977 in the Manti Center Ward. Burial was in the Manti City Cemetery. Mrs. Lowry was born in Moroni July 12, 1885, to Jacob Albert Cloward and Ann Susan Olsen Cloward. She and Abner D. Lowry were married Jan. 27, 1908, in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Nov. 3, 1957. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred A. Jensen, Manti; sons, Lloyd A., Moab; Wendel H., Ojia, Calif.; Earl J., Dean V., and Elliott G., all Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren; 36 and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Shand school is in session, the Snow College Art Department attempting to provide outstanding art exhibits in the library. Kimball as the principal speaker, it was announced today by Utah Tech President Wilson W. Sorensen. It will be a daytime event beginning at 10 a.m., to be followed by an open house and inspection of the campus for the general public and honored guests attending. Although the campus has been partially in use since last fall, it will be the formal beginning of a new era for the college, said President Sorensen.
