Show News of Clubs Social ife o People and Places Open House Will Honor 1 Obituaries Stanley and Edna Nielson The children of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley R. (Edna M.) Nielson are honoring their parents at an open house in the Ephraim West Ward cultural hall June 26 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. The family requests no gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Nielson were married June 16, 1926, in the Salt Lake Temple. Sherman Mortensen Their living children are Funeral services for Sherman 65, who died in a Mt. Pleasant Friday hospital of complications following open heart surgery, were held Monday afternoon in Stanley Reed Nielson, Ephraim; Nedra Ruth Bell, Portland, Ore.; James Rue Nielson, Pleasant Grove; Charles Earl Nielson, Canoga Park, Calif., and Kenneth Dean Nielson, Ephraim. N. Mortensen, the Ephraim West Ward chapel. Burial was in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Mr. Mortensen was born May 23, 1911, in Ephraim to Niels and Saretta Louise Christensen Mortensen. He married Roxie Thursby Sept. 14, 1938, in the Manti LDS Temple. He attended Ephraim public schools and Snow College. He and his wife had lived all their lives in the Ephraim West Ward. Mr. Mortensen is survived by his wife, by three sons and two daughters: Kay Sherman, Orem; Niel Thursby, Hunter; Lee A. and Fern Mortensen, Ephraim; Mrs. Carl (Roxane) Jensen, Taylorsville, and by nine grandchildren. He is also survived by three Mr. and Mrs. Stanley R. Nielson Clinton Barton Funeral services for Clinton Mr. Barton was born in Manti to Alice Anderson and Steven Barton. He attended schools in Manti, graduating from Manti High. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah where he received a degree in education. He married Geneva Michael-seMayfield. They are the parents of one daughter, Vivian B. Beattie, Bountiful; five sons, Dr. Hal Barton, Rexburg, Idaho; Robert Barton, Salt Lake City; John Lynn Barton, Sacramento, Calif.; Steven Kay Barton, Idaho; Douglas Barton, Salt Lake City.
