They filled out their books and got everything finished off. It was a very busy day for them. On the 15th we had a party at the Manti City Park. Guests at the Denny Harman house have been Mrs. Neil Groves and her family. They are friends of the Harmans. They stayed from Thursday to Monday. Vernon Schmidt and his wife Elaine went to Nephi on Saturday to a Safety dinner for the Union Pacific Railroad. This particular dinner was for employees from Milford to Salt Lake City. The Schmidts report they had a lovely time.. Beth Call is recovering satisfactorily following major surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake. Elder Jene Beal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Beal, was the featured speaker at sacrament meeting in the Manti South Ward Sunday evening, August 24. Elder Beal reports to the Mission Home in Salt Lake City August 30 prior to attending LTM at BYU in preparation to serving a mission in Belgium. occasion and visiting at the home included the following: Ivan Squire, Clarion; Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Beal, Salt Lake City; Elizabeth Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Gorden Sorensen, Spring City; Mrs. Lenore Shelley and family, Mt. On the way home Glen took Susan to Rexburg, Idaho where she will spend her last year at Ricks College. She will graduate as a registered nurse. Also visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Gibson and their family. Mrs. Gibson is Davids sister. After visiting for a few days the Halls and Gibsons went to the Halls reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Parry were in Orangeville and Cleveland to attend wedding receptions for cousins recently.
