iron blossom mine has been under N ay and everything indi cates that this property is to become a lery very heavy producer of copper there is now a full face of the copper rock on the and while the ore lc which has been mined will not go better than 10 per cent there are iea S sons to behe belien e that an average assay from the face today vi bill ill show f fully ally 20 per cent supt bupt charles zabriskie states that about 12 tons of this ore N carr carrying ing aiom fl om 8 to 10 per cent copper and some values in silver and gold will leave the mine today and that s within a very short time the mine 1 will no doubt be sending out a very mm respectable tonnage of copper ore in add tion to the product cine the COO level lev el of the iron blossom 21 I 1 i mine has improved ed wonderfully dur ing the past few months and promises 2 ito 0 outrival the from which the company has been shipping so heavily I 1 and a nd which has been considered the i b bast ast level of the mine when a question 0 f tonnage was under consideration J one C of the big recently devel aped 0 on the is located about mid way ivay between the north and south to n workings of the mine and another the drift driven through to the ax dragon ground from the level of f the iron blossom is still following the ithe 1 en in a southerly d re ion and while no important strike e has yet r s been made for the dragon company L there is a splendid prospect of en countering the ore in paying ties at a I 1 ery early date about feet of drifting has been done in the interest of the dragon people upon this level lev el improvement at swansea the big electric pump at the swan sea mine which was out of commis sion tor for about three weeks on account of an accident is working again to day the necessary repairs having been completed yesterday work is now progressing nicely in both the north and ana south drifts upon the level and with the pumps and other machinery in first class condition no farther further trouble is anticipated there has been a marked improvement in the north drift on the level dur ing the past few days and the ore which last week had pinched down to a few inches has again widened 0 out u t until it covers a very good portion of the face of the drift it is an iron sulphide oie 01 e carrying 35 to 40 ounces silver the present ore show ing upon the level of the swansea I 1 is s quite gratifying to the officials of the company but even better results are expected apen when the north drift reaches a point below the big in the upper portion of the mine mammoth shipping heavily the mammoth mine is once more gh gin ing a good account of itself in the matter of ore production last week eight cars were sent out and the ship ments for this week amounted to seven carloads manager samuel mcintyre macint re states that most of this ore is being M mined ed f from ro the and levels where a s splendid I 1 edid body of cop per ore was en C u ered sometime some time ago the ore n being mined car nes ries about 8 per cent copper with enough silver to make it of nice corn com iner merceal cial value there is a face of this ore fully twenty feet in width where it is being handled from the level and a show ing which is equally as Q grod go od just above the heavy shipments from gold cold chain superintendent letterstrom Rett V ett erstrom t f the gold chain and grand central mines was in eureka for a few hours yester day and informs the reporter that this weeks output from the former mine will be the hean hea heaviest lest iest since the installation of the new equipment a total of thirteen carloads of ore being placed upon the market mr wetter strom believes that it will be possible to keep the shipments from the gold chain up to about two carloads each day the new machinery is all run ning very smoothly and the general condition of the mine could hardly be better shipment from new bullion A carload of silver lead ore will be forwarded to the smelter within the next few days from the new bullion mine of north tintic gintic upon which A N wallace george elliott R E petty and charlie bergstrom have a lease this will be the first shipment for the distance to the south of the scranton mine about fintics cs output the mining editor of the hera d republican gives the monthly outa it of 0 the cobalt district of ontario and winds up with a comparison com between that district and clintic he say cobalt s monthly output equals about one third clintic s weekly tonnage shipments and in value not much more than gintic is sending out every six days yet et the east and europe are tumbling avei themselves to get into the big cobalt 1 corpor i ions while he e in utah is jsck 4 with asten more lasting merit j lessees essers have shipped three cars the parties who are operating a portion of the old eureka hill mine under a leasing agreement have al at ready placed about three carloads of very good ore upon the market in the til operations to date the lessees have been taking out small deposits of ore and no strike of importance has yel ye been made there is con sidera ble virgin ground in that part ot of the mine which is covered by this lease and naturally there is a ability of a strike being made centennial doing good work up at the centennial emeka euleka mine supt bupt R A brown has a force of men at work upon the water level something like feet of drifting has already been accomplished not withstanding the fact that the heavy flow of water has given a considerable amount of trouble just at present the water is under such control that it cin can be handled nicel with one unit althe large pumping plant and and this means that the flow which is being pu pumped to the surface does not ex coed gallons per minute for the purpose of avoiding the water as much as possible supt bupt brown has changed the course of the drift upon the 2200 level and it may take some little time yet to get into the ground in which ore results are expected Ever everything Everth thing mg is moving along in a most satisfactory manner at the centennial eureka mine and the usual heavy tonnage of ore is being sent out weekly leasing duncan who is in chaice of the united tintic gintic company s property in the southeastern end of the district was in town yesterday and says he be is now following the aspinwall vein which was recently opened at a depth of feet in a southerly diorec tion tiou and in addition to this a drift is being sent out to V th west for the purpose of e count countering efing the bullock vein it will require e aul about 60 feet of drifting to ge gea V the latter a vein the aspinwall ve n lias as been found to contain some y ygo good ore where it is now being developed by b the united gintic tintic people the ein matter is about three feet in width and there is a stringer of good ore measuring aiom six to eight inches this ore carries silver and copper and assays which were made this week indicate that the ore is worth in the neighbor hood of 90 per ton working tintic gintic humbolt ground john taylor came in from north tintic gintic this week and states that good progress is being
