Show HELDING I 1 just returned home last wednes ay day iy june from my farm in hansel valley utah and have it a very story to tell about rabies on i iby y farm wi we have been plowing with an engine and sir air loy wheeler has teen been helping us while lie he was away last monday a mad coyote ran into lis I 1 is door yard and began chasing the dogs mrs airs wheeler was alone with three small children she went to the lie door to see what was the trouble aau saw the animal the first thing ele ebe done was to get her little children iu in tile the house the coyote then bayed down by the shed and mrs wheeler went and got a shot gun and fired two shots at it but she did not scare i away she then set the dogs on an it but the coyote would just run to the dogs and try to bite them jt A lived around the place all day and she decided to shoot at a it again she thinks she must have lilt it the last shot because it wandered oft off thru the fields and been seen since 1 I left there but they expect it back again t mrs airs wheeler say bays the coyote looked like it was almost starved to death but it never offered to bother the chickens it was so weak that it would tumble over in the door yard this is the second case ot of this kind in that valley and I 1 think the county or state ought to do something about it II the coyotes are very thick in that part of the country and no one lias has been hunting them that I 1 have reen feen this year LEONARD STANDING |
