decrease in enrollment during the past year Brigham Young university gained about 20 per cent the current issue of School and SoI ciety shows The average declinr in college registrations throughout the nation during the year was 9 per cent This comparison was between totals including both summer and winter students On the same basis B Y U gained about 20 per cent during the same period This growtli has placed B Y V among the larger institutions in the Of country the figures revealed r the 555 colleges and uni467 or versities in the United States 85 per cent are smaller and only 87 or 15
