Show Hilltop HILLTOP TIMES Know from 1 Books, movies collected for sale The Team Hill Combined Federal Campaign committee is collecting gently used or new books and movies for an upcoming sale. The donations will be accepted any time May 19-June 13 at the following locations: Bldg. 58 (Point of Contact: Master Sgt. David Rogala); Bldg. 570 (Master Sgt. The CFC Book & Movie Sale will be held June 18-19 at the Base Exchange's Main Entrance from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All proceeds from the sale will go toward administrative costs for the upcoming CFC. Questar begins work for pipeline Questar Gas and National Pipeline will be potholing to identify underground utilities for a new pipeline that will run across the base. This work will occur 8 a.m.5 p.m., beginning June 8, and continue on the weekends of June 14-15, and June 21-22. No parking restrictions are anticipated during the work week, but there could be periodic parking area closures along the route. There could also be short term lane closures on the weekends along South Gate Drive, Balmer and Weiner Streets during the potholing effort. Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs is holding its annual Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament today at the Hubbard Memorial Golf Course. Check-in, registration and continental breakfast will be from 7-8 a.m., followed by tee-off at 8 a.m. There will be a luncheon, prize award ceremony and award drawing at the completion of the tournament. Teams will consist of four members, with one member designated as team captain. If you do not have a foursome, singles, twosomes and threesomes will be combined to make full teams. All proceeds from this tournament directly benefit veterans and veterans programs such as the Homeless Veterans StandDown, education tutoring and scholarships, hardship assistance, and many more. Commanders should ensure their Unit Health Monitors notify members of this requirement. Immediate action is recommended because it takes at least four months to complete the series. Fundraising regulations Movie theater closed Saturday Hill AFB organizations may conduct two fundraising events per quarter, but the events must be approved via staff summary sheet, in accordance with AFI 34-223-AFI 36-3101. The 75 FSS/CL is the approving authority for all booster clubs or private organizations. Requests should be routed at least 10-15 days prior to the event. Three movies are shown most Saturdays at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. There is a snack bar that helps support initiatives of the base's First Four organization. Snacks are available for reasonable prices. Coffee talk events A new coffee bar is open from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Junior Enlisted Recreation Center (Bldg. 524) and will coincide with a "coffee talk" event, which will be held for junior enlisted Airmen to voice questions and concerns with installation senior leaders. New restaurants in food court An Arby's and Subway recently opened at Hill Air Force Base's Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) main exchange food court. Both restaurants are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. MondayFriday, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The AAFES food court already features a Taco Bell, Charley's Grilled Subs, Anthony's Pizza and a number of other concessions. A Popeye's Chicken is located on the west side of the base. Immunizations requirements The Department of Defense recently updated its immunization guidelines, requiring all service members to receive the hepatitis B virus immunizations. The requirement for a hepatitis B vaccination began appearing on service members' individual medical readiness lists on March 28. Members have 365 days to complete the three-shot series before they are flagged for non-compliance. The hepatitis B vaccine is given in three doses. • Dose 1 is given. • Dose 2 must be given at least 30 days after dose 1. Training days designated The 75th Air Base Wing has designated the second Wednesday of each month as a 'Training Day." The training days schedule is June 11, July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. During these training days, the 75th Medical Group, including the base pharmacy, will be closed. The only Medical Group exception is the Occupational Medicine Services (civilian) Clinic, Bldg. 249. No changes will be made to the appointment process.
