Local residents can expect an increase in noise during the evening hours as pilots sharpen their nighttime combat flying skills. The wings will conduct these missions Monday through Friday until about midnight. The active duty 388th FW and the Reserve 419th FW limit night flying operations to the See FLIGHTS F I page 4 Capitol Christmas Tree Ceremony On Monday, Nov. 11, Col. Kathryn Kolbe, 75th Air Base Wing commander, will speak at a ceremony welcoming the Capitol Christmas Tree to the Junction in Ogden, at 4 p.m. The Engelmann Spruce is being transported across country to the Capitol Building in D.C., and the ceremony marks an opportunity for families to see the tall tree, hear from veterans and sign cards to send to a member of the U.S. military on deployment. He came to Hill AFB to learn more about the base's capabilities and to speak with the Airmen on base. During his visit, he received briefings on Hill's F-35 maintenance facilities, the ICBM prime integration contract support facility and learned about the Falcon Hill Enhanced Use Lease Program. ORT LEE, Va. — Corn- missaries will soon begin scanning customers' Department of Defense ID cards at checkouts as the Defense Commissary Agency continues its pursuit to deliver a 21st century benefit. The commissary at Fort Lee, Va., became the first store to scan ID cards on Oct. 22 as the first part of an agency-wide rollout to all stores that begins Nov. 10 and will be completed by midJanuary. Commissary shoppers are used to showing their ID cards to establish their eligibility to use the commissary. The Air Force RaIL has been organically performing the critical avionics sustainment function for the F-22 Raptor here since April 10. The RaIL is successfully accomplish- ing critical software integration activities for the F-22 Raptor, the world's most advanced fighter jet, at a state-of-the-art government facility.
