Show 0 L --I --I \ H r H AWARD SUPPLEMENT TO THE HILLTOP TIMES THURSDAY, MARCH 14, 2013 7 Hill honors its scientists and engineers at annual awards ceremony Hilltop Times staff T he tenth annual Hill AFB Science Engineering and Technical Management Awards Banquet was held at the Davis Conference Center on Feb. 20. The purpose was to recognize and honor Hill AFB's best and brightest engineers for their outstanding accomplishments during the period of Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2012. Although Air Force Materiel Command underwent a reorganization last year into a 5-Center Construct, the nomination and awarding process were held as though it were still a 12-center organization. This was because the majority of 2012 was conducted under the 12-center format. Therefore the award winners represented the three main tenants of Hill AFB as it was for the majority of 2012. These were: The former Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) and its former subordinate units, the 309th Maintenance Wing and the Aerospace Sustainment Directorate The former Air Force Global Logistics Support Center's (AFGLSC) 748th Supply Chain Management Group The Air Force Nuclear Weapon Center's (AFNWC) ICBM Systems Directorate. Angie Tymofichuk, Air Force Sustainment Center Director of Engineering and Technical Management, spoke briefly to the crowd of approximately 340. Justin Lutz, an electrical engineer from Space and C3I and a member of the awards committee, provided some light entertainment. Current awards guidance asks for combined scientist/engineer award winners. In the spirit of recognition for the former units of the Ogden Air Logistics Center, the individual scientist and engineer award winners were recognized. A combined Scientist/Engineer award winner was also announced to represent the center at the AFMC level. The award winners include the following: Peer Award Winner for the Annual Director's Choice Award, Tim Plaizier, 309th Maintenance Group.
