I decided I wanted to keep shooting. So, I found out about a program (YHEC), which was very instrumental with my skills. The program (YHEC) taught small rifle, muzzle loader guns, archery, shotguns and gun safety. I got involved, shot with that until I was out of high school, and then decided I wanted to go for the Olympics," Dunford said about the trajectory of her passion for shooting. "I kind of have a natural ability with guns. Just going out and shooting a gun is kind of like therapy to me. So I might as well do my therapy as a sport. I love it," Dunford said. Finding a place to practice became a challenge for Dunford. Her brother is a contractor on base and suggested the Hill Rod and Gun Club. She felt at ease and found a great place to practice there.
