Single Airmen Rock & Bowl competition every other Friday Every hour on the half-hour 30 push-ups, sit-ups Airmen and civilians perform their 9:30 a.m. push-ups in the hallway of Building 849 in response to Maj. Gen. H. Brent Baker's "30 on 30" fitness challenge. The challenge extends through Feb. 1, and includes a 12-mile weekly run. Marketing Division T he Bowling Center is holding an event for single Airmen in which they compete collectively for their units. On Friday evenings 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., Jan. 11 and 25, Feb. 8 and 22, and March 8, at the bowling center scores will be accumulated. The free event for all Team Hill single Airmen, will cost $10 per person for non-single Airmen. Each night of bowling will feature black lights, special effects lighting, fog and rockin' music. In the challenge between Hill AFB single Airmen competing for the highest total pin fall (by squadron) during the event, the squadron with the most cumulative total pin fall will be awarded a certificate for a "free" wingman bowling event. Squadrons can be represented by unlimited single Airmen, competing for the traveling trophy engraved with their office symbol. At the end of the program on March 8, the squadron with the most cumulative total pin fall will be awarded a certificate for a "free" wingman bowling event. • BILL ORNDORFF U.S. Air Force Civilians are welcome to participate in the '30 on 30' Fitness Challenge BY BILL ORNDORFF Ogden Air Logistics Complex I f you see a group of Airman suddenly stop and do push-ups or sit-ups, they're not being punished 4 they're actually participating in a month-long fitness challenge. The "30 on 30" Fitness Challenge was started by Maj. Gen. H. Brent Baker Sr., Ogden Air Logistics Complex commander, as a means of encouraging fitness among active duty Airmen during January. Civilian employees are also invited to participate. The Airmen stop whatever they're doing every hour on the half 4 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., etc. 4 and perform 30 push-ups or 30 situps during the duty day. They are also challenged to do 12 miles of self-paced running weekly throughout the month. The challenge began Jan. 7 and continues through Feb. 1. At the end of the challenge, a fitness competition will be held to determine the top finishers in each category, followed by a friendly game of dodge ball.
