There will be $2 tickets for military personnel and their families for Nov. 9, 10 and 11 games. The main festivities will be Saturday. The Mustangs will auction off jerseys with proceeds to be donated to Operation Warm Heart. That night the Mustangs "Hero of the Game" will honor a member of the armed services. The puck is set to drop on Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. with the game on Sunday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. all at the Weber County Ice Sheet. Grizzlies Military Appreciation Night The Utah Grizzlies would like to invite all service members and their families to a game Monday, Nov. 12, at 7:05 p.m. as they face off against Stockton. All military members will get 50 percent off the walk-in gate price but they must call ahead to purchase their tickets through the Grizzlies Ticket Office, by calling Jon Laughlin at 801-9888003. They include: Friday, Nov. 9 Veterans Ball, 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Ogden Eagles Lodge, 975 Wall Ave., with the band Rythmaires playing swing/Big Band music. Cost is $15 or $25 per couple. The dance will be preceded by a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Best dress military uniforms or coat and tie for civilians. Please no camouflage uniforms, levis, jeans or Battle Dress Uniforms. New commander for 419 FW Saturday, Nov. 10 Ogden Veterans Day Parade, beginning at 11:11 a.m., line up and sign in desk at 31st Street and Washington Boulevard opens at 9 a.m. The parade route goes north on Washington Boulevard to 23rd Street then goes west on 23rd to Lindquist Ballpark. The parade will include a new "Utah Youth Salutes America's Heroes" entry where young people carry 600 flags. Patriotic Rally at Lindquist Ballpark, immediately following the parade, will include See VETERANS I page 7 HERITAGE DANCE Turkey Trott 5K Run or Walk on Nov. 15 The Hill AFB Health and Wellness Center, Civilian Health Promotion Service and the Warrior Fitness Center have sponsored a "Turkey Trott" 5K Fun Run/Walk for the Great American Smokeout. This year the Turkey Trott will be on the Smokout day 4 Nov. 15 , noon to 1 p.m. Registration will be at the Warrior Fitness Center. The first 100 to sign up will receive a beanie, and there will be a prize for the first place male and female winners. Gen. Henry H. Arnold Educational Grants General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant: Since its inception in 1942, the Air Force Aid Society has been committed to helping Air Force members and their families realize their academic goals. The centerpiece of the society's education initiatives is the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program which provides grants to selected sons and daughters of active duty, Title 10 AGR/Reservist, Title 32 AGR performing full-time active duty, retired or deceased Air Force members, spouses of active duty members, and surviving spouses of active duty or retired Air Force members enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum GPA of 2.0. HEATHER SKINKLE 419th Fighter Wing Public Affairs T he 419th Fighter Wing welcomed a an during a change new commander of command ceremony Oct. 4. Col. Bryan Radliff assumed command of nearly 1,100 personnel assigned to Utah's only Air Force Reserve unit. "Our mission isn't about the leaders, but what leadership can provide to the wing so the team, the Air Force Reserve, and the nation succeed," Radliff said. Radliff is a career fighter pilot with more than 3,300 hours of experience in the F-15 and F-22 aircraft.
