AIR F Hill AFB, Utah 84056-5824 www.hilltoptimes.com hilltoptimes@standard.net Vol. 72 No. 24, June 14, 2012 ME= SEE ME SAVE ME RUN IN THE KNOW 650 North on-ramp closed June 15.18 Motorists are advised that the I-15 on-ramp at 650 North is tentatively scheduled to close from Friday, June 15, at 8 p.m. to Monday, June 18, at 6 a.m. as crews re-pave this section of the roadway. A group of motorcyclists from Hill Air Force Base and other guest cyclists rides south on Washington Boulevard in Ogden on June 13. The ride was meant to educate the public about how many motorcyclists there are out there on the road and to promote safety. Temporary fitness center hours Effective Monday, June 4, the Warrior Fitness Center has had to change its hours due to staffing changes. The new termporary hours are Monday through Thursday, 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The rest of the schedule will remain the same as before: Friday hours are 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hiring actions have been initiated to fill several fitness center positions. Hours will be expanded as the staffing situation KIM COOK U.S. Air Force allows. Your patience is appreciated as the fitness center works through the process. Summer Camp for rising 6th graders A free summer camp will be available for all Hill Air Force Base rising 6th grade students. Starbase Hill is a national science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program. The curriculum is based on physics, chemistry, technology and robotics, and engineering. Students eligible to attend may not already be set to attend one of the following schools: Antelope, Adelaide, Bluff Ridge, Crestview, Doxey, Foxboro, Fremont, Hill Field, Holt, King, Layton, Lincoln, Meadowbrook, South Clearfield, Sunset, Syracuse, Vae View, Wasatch, Washington or Whitesides. This camp is also not available to anyone whose family is changing their permanent station. The camp will be June 25-28, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Building 460. Lt. Col. Todd Osgood will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Jeffrey Cook. Col. Donald Hickman, 75th Medical Group commander, will preside at the ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. in the Ambulance Bay at the Hill Air Force Base Clinic. Attire is military uniform of the day or business attire. People who follow @HAFB can get access to pertinent service-, command- and base-unique news, information and photos. "Using Twitter gives us a unique and immediate means to communicate with base employees and the public," said George Jozens, 75th Air Base Wing director of public affairs. "This name change is being made to give the base a simpler and more recognizable Twitter handle." The base's old Twitter account, which can be found under the handle @TeamHill_UT, currently boasts a little more than 280 followers, but its proverbial doors are closing. People who follow this Twitter handle will see tweets to follow @HAFB, and a static message posted to the account directs current and prospective followers to the new @HAFB account. The use of social media is a relatively new endeavor for Hill AFB.
