Show HILLTOP TIMES IN[top 10 TIMES April 14, 2011 NEWS BRIEFS Building 843 Lot Phase 1 paving Barbecue and Dance Party at Club Hill The 75th Civil Engineer Squadron has a paving project in the Building 843 parking lot (parking lot northwest through northeast of Building 843 and east of Building 843). Phase 1 will continue through April 29. The area of the parking lot northwest of Building 843 and first two driveways off 5th Street will be closed for reconstruction during this period. The driveway off "H" Avenue to the west entrance will remain open. Temporary parking will be set up in the parking lot east of Building 843 off "G" Avenue. The project schedule will be as weather permits. Additional articles will be published providing readers with further schedules during construction in this area. Barbecue and dance for $6 per person includes barbecue chicken at 2 p.m. and dance party at 9 p.m. Admittance for dance party will be $8 per person, 9 p.m. and thereafter. DJ Rell will provide the music. Barbecue will be served on the patio, dance party will be inside. 649th Munitions Squadron inventory The 649th Munitions Squadron is conducting a 100 percent inventory of the depot (FV2172) stockpile through April 30. During the inventory, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Staff Sgt. Wednesday Hill AFB Ladies Golf The 2011 Season for the Wednesday Hill AFB Ladies Golf Association will start May 4. A short meeting for all members and new members will be held at 9 a.m. Golf will begin at 10 a.m. (weather permitting). New members are welcome. For more information contact Maxine Clark, (801) 544-9574. Warrior Fitness Run For It Relay event Join the Warrior Fitness Center for a relay around the base. Teams of two or four will run a combined total distance of 24 miles. To participate, $5 a person, will pay for the expenses. Prizes will be awarded. Volunteers are needed. To sign up go to the fitness center. Interested volunteers may call (801) 777-2762. America's Kids Fun Run May 14 Mark your calendars for America's Kds Fun Run. It will be held in conjunction with the Hill Half Marathon scheduled for May 14. It will be lots of fun and each child who participates will get a T-shirt. Check with the Warrior Fitness Center for more information. Orange zone at 10 a.m. will be for children with special needs, but they can also participate with their respective age groups. 10:15 a.m., ages 3-5 will hunt in the Blue Zone, 10:30 a.m., ages 6-8 will hunt in the Yellow Zone and at 10:45 a.m., ages 9-12 will hunt in the Green Zone. Door prize drawings will be awarded 15 minutes prior to the start of each hunt. Parents are not allowed on the field unless with the 0-2 age and the special needs groups. Prizes will be awarded in the prize tent. All prizes are the same — there will be no special eggs this year. Kids' Deployment Day at Hill AFB Kids will get to see some Japan Disaster Relief in Utah event A group of people with ties to Japan have organized a fund-raiser Saturday, April 16, at Founder's Park, 1500 S. 1900 West in Syracuse, beginning at 10 a.m. Many of those involved are spouses of military personnel who met them while they served in Japan. The event will send funds to the American Red Cross to send on to the Japanese Red Cross. Events include a yard sale, performances (local and Japanese), food and beverages, children's activities, small shops and a display about the disaster.
