Bice at DSN 777-4867. The Ice Sheet day for military families The Ice Sheet will be hosting an Armed Forces Appreciation Skate on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 pm. The cost is $3 per person. Price includes admission and skate rental. Children younger than 5 years old are free. BHMH incentive signing until Nov. 30 Some cutbacks on Self Help Center Any active duty Air Force personnel currently residing off base who signs up for Boyer Hill Military Housing will receive one full month free rent. Anyone residing in the dorms who is engaged and signs up for BHMH will receive the same deal. The offer extends through a signing before Nov. 30. The free rent will consist of the first full month of rent following move in. The offer does not extend to those currently residing in military housing already. Due to current 75th Civil Engineer Squadron manpower constraints, the Self Help Center is temporarily unable to process any new Self Help Requests. Current, in-progress Self Help work orders will be supported until completion. If your unfunded project cost will be $15,000 or above, submit a regular E332 for coordination, approval and programming. Walk-ins may use the bench stock entry/counter (Building 830) for such nonelectronic items as switch plates, outlets, and blank covers; toilet seats with or without lids, toilet plungers, picture hangers, carpet cleaners and carpet shampoo, door stops and door kick downs. Nonelectric tools included are such items as drills, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, measuring tapes and ladders. Lawn care equipment such as shovels, rakes, push brooms and wheel barrows can still be checked out. The center hours for these items remain Monday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Self Help Center Electronic 332s can still be submitted, but will remain in a hold status until manning constraints are resolved. It is hoped that the situation will be resolved in the near future. Grizz to host military appreciation night The Utah Grizzlies announce the annual Military Appreciation Night on Nov 20 when the team plays the Alaska Aces. All military personnel may purchase tickets with proof of service, for $5. Play begins at 7:05 p.m. at the Maverik Center, 3200 S. Decker Lake Drive (2200 West), in West Valley City. A ceremony to honor the military will be part of the pregame festivities. A teddy bear toss for the kids is also planned. Warm the Soles shoe drive donation CDC and Youth Center hours change America First Credit Union is sponsoring a new shoe drive for children of Hill Air Force personnel in need. Donations are being accepted at all three Hill AFB branches: Community, Building 431 East Area, Building 230 West Area, Building 1235 Closing hours at the Child Development Center (CDC) and for School-Age Programs at the Youth Center are changing on Nov. 29, from 6 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If parents have any concerns about this change they are encouraged to contact the applicable center for assistance as soon as possible. OSC to hold Holiday Bazaar on Nov. 17 Shop for Christmas gifts, fall and winter birthdays, baby gifts, decorations and much more on Nov. 17 in the Club Hill Ballroom. Reminder - Hill AFB firing range off limits Hill Air Force Base's firing range is located next to the Base Operational Readiness Training Area on the east side of the base approximately 1 mile down Range Road. The range is off limits to all personnel on- and off duty. This location is for official use only! Live fire and other hazards associated with the range are prevalent at all times. This is Holiday Collection Drive. Toys for Tots collection boxes will be displayed at each Stor-n-Lock store through Dec.15t. New unwrapped toys may be dropped off at any of the Stor-n-Lock locations Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The toy drive will benefit thousands of children in need throughout the area during the holiday season. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah). The veterans home was dedicated to George E. Wahlen, Utah's Medal of Honor recipient, on Veteran's Day 2009. The bell tower itself has been undergoing construction since the dedication and will be traveling all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio, complete with an escort of Patriot Guard Riders. This effort starts at 4 p.m. at 2275 S. 900 West, in Salt Lake City. • The second is at the Utah Food Bank where volunteers will sort and assemble food packages for Utah's neediest.
