"He loved to come up here and fly our Gooney Bird (C-47 Skytrain)," said Price. Gibson was very active in the Air Force Association and served on many national committees, Price recalled. He also managed the Ogden airport at one time. Of note in his obituary, Gibson flew the official photos of the surrender of the Japanese to Washington, D.C, on Sept. 2, 1945. A picture of that air crew is posted at the Hill Aerospace Museum. Price passed away 65 years to the day from that mission. His funeral was held in Ogden on Sept. 11.
