Gaylor reflected on 59 years of service and the changes that the Air Force has undergone over time. Lindquist Sr. GDEN — Seven individuals who have been staunch supporters of Hill Air Force Base and the Air Force in life — and some now remembered after having passed on — were honored Saturday night. The Wingmen Award was presented as part of festivities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Air Force. Hundreds were gathered for the observance at the Eccles Conference Center. Those honored were: Jewel Lee Kenley, John A. Lindquist Sr., Vickie McCall and Marc Reynolds. Posthumously honored, with family and loves ones present were Max Hadley, Dee Livingood and Nate Mazer. "Jewel Lee Kenley is a leader among leaders," the audience was told. She was a key contributor to the 2006 "Salute to Our Hometown Military Heroes," helping raise funds for the Team Hill fitness center. "Her involvement in the Salute project directly correlates to HAFB military members' readiness to engage in the Global War on Terror." "As an alumni member of the Defense Civil Orientation Course, her vast knowledge of the Department of Defense has made her a staunch advocate for the Air Force and HAFB," it was noted. "Her opinion about defense issues concerning the base are highly valued and often solicited by local government and military leaders reaching to the highest echelons of government and DOD."
