Shawn Moore, a recruiter with the 419th Fighter Wing, completes enlistment paperwork with new recruit, James Vanson. The wing's recruiting squadron has brought in more than 170 new recruits this past year. The reserve recruiters met their recruiting goal in early July and are currently at 125 percent of goal. Brad Bair, Chief of the 419th Military Equal Opportunity office, swears in James Vanson, who recently signed on as a member of the Air Force Reserves. Mr. Vanson is prior active duty Air Force and is being assigned to a reserve unit at McChord AFB, Wash. Tech. Sgt, Nancy Grossman with the 419th Command Post, shops with a local girl purchasing clothing and school supplies as part of a program called Child Spree" which helps low income families prepare for the school year. Child Spree is sponsored by the Davis School District Foundation, the Layton Rotary Club, the United Way of Davis County and Mervyns. Each year, members of the 419th FW volunteer to help the children shop at Mervyns in the Layton Mall.
