Hilltop Times staff 'A Basketball shootaround The commissary will host a shoot-around in its parking lot Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Players of all ages will have two minutes to make shots and score points. The most points scored will win prizes for the top four in each division. Registration forms ,are located at the commissary office and must be returned today. ^ Intramural sports postponed All racquetball and volleyball intramural games scheduled through Friday have been rescheduled due to the exercise. Play will resume on Monday. Coaches can contact the Hess Fitness Center for a revised schedule. ^. Fitness center reservation update If units are not present in their reserved area of the fitness center 15 minutes past their scheduled time, the reservation will be forfeited for that day. Units must let the fitness center staff know if they can't make the reservation. For more information, contact the Hess Fitness Center at Ext. 7-7772. On Feb. 11, the Civilian Fitness Program changed to allow full-time appropriated fund employees up to three hours per week of duty-time for physical fitness activities. A Fit for Life Walk has been scheduled to kick-off the Civilian Fitness Program, and is intended to encourage fitness and program participation by providing helpful tools. Some of the tools include opportunities to learn about File photo structured self-paced programs to get started and become familiar with the base walking and jogging trails and obtain information to assist with setting goals and tracking personal progress. The funwalk is April 28 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and can be accomplished in one-hour intervals. The walk will be held at Centennial Park, and employees will walk one mile. Participants will also be able to sign up for the "10,000 Steps-a-Day" program or "100, 300, or 500 Hours Cardiovascular" programs. Both programs are self-paced. This is an easy way to get started and maintain a selfpaced fitness program. As an extra incentive, the first 3,000 participants who register for both the walk and one of the above programs will earn a free pedometer when they complete the walk.
