being necessary to no ao d overflow meetings in the assem bly hall and on the grounds in order to accommodate the large crowd at the morning session president joseph F smith delivered his annual I 1 address the keynote of which was an appeal for the careful training and instruction af the young he ile asked that the greatest efforts be put forth to instruct the if mormon trinon young people in the principle principles of their fell religion gion in order that they might remain in the faith the president went on record as being opposed to marriages be b teen members of the mormon church and non mormons such mar biages he said were almost sure to result unhappily president smith in his speech made a plea tor for the support of home industry this plea coming from the leading spiritual adviser of by tar far the greater portion 0 of f the people of the state will undoubtedly do much to assist in the development ot of utah industries I 1 ahe he president paid a high tribute to the
