Show city council in regular S session assion 6 all the members of the city council were present at the meeting held last friday evening and mayor mitchel presided it was decided to secure the ea ot of W J bateman an expert ac countant to audit the books of the city treasurer and cita cit recorder some time i nor to january 1st county assessor bailey was present at the meeting and called the atten tion of the council to the fact that a survey of the lots in some parts of eureka ureka cit is badly needed the lots which are located upon the gemini and ridge and valley mining ground are not properly described in the assessors office and as a result the city is losing some tax money which should be collected each vear the matter v mill ill be investigated and a report presented at the next meet ing of the council the committee upon city pro property lerty in an informal discussion of the case reco recommended in mended th thattie at the city sell to the gemini mug co the mineral right to certain ground covered by church I 1 street for the sum of 1000 no action was taken upon this matter hop hov ever city officers reports city treasurer john coriey s report showed that jhb city had a cash bal ance of 06 on november 1st the disbursements for the month in eluding money paid out to the con tractors who are putting in the sewer amounted 82 92 while the receipts receipt a were 50 leaving a balance of 1610 14 in the treasure on the 1st of december miss mooney the city recorder reported the collection of 75 for the month of november of this amount being for water ater rents seven cases were up before police judge john 0 freckleton and there were six convictions fines to the amount of 40 were lei levied aed and aa of this amount was collected city physician laker s report show ed that 11 14 cases of whooping cough had been reported during november one case of scarlet fever was also under quarantine and six cases of typhoid fever had be sent to salt lake hospitals three cases of typhoid fever were also being treated in this city another session of the council will aill be held tonight |
