| Show at the centennial 14 the three hundred r more men v m h ho 0 are upon the pay roll at the centen cente n nial mal eureka mine no longer find it necessary to climb the steep dugway leading up to the hoisting works in going to their work on the first of this month the men commenced ing the holden tunnel in go ng a id coming from their work and the road leading up to the hoisting works of this mil mit e is no longer the bisy thoroughfare that it was some ti ne ago before the constriction of the tramway all of the ore from the gen con tennial eureka mine was hauled down to the cars car over this road and the timber coal and other supplies were also hauled up the hill bill the road to the mine being lined with men and teams at almost every hour of the day clay the tramway brought the ore down and took the coal up and deduc ed the travel over this road but the miners continued to use it until lat saturday when they commenced going into the mine through the b g holden tunnel which taps the shaft at a depth of feet in the winter t me the trip up the hill to the centennial eureka mine was a very tiring one and the era em of the company are no doubt yell pleased with the cha ge the office of the company is now located in to one of the buildings at the ti 1 e mouth of the tunnel having been moved from its old location near the hoisting plant late last week |
