throughout the state under direction of Utah extension service extra emphasis is being placed It L Wrigley acting ex- tension director and Mrs Myrtle Peterson amistant are directing the activities for the month This month is designated as 'a period when rural people will give additional effort to improvement and living conditions in the home This means clean up paint tip house repair new plantings of shrubs flowers fruits and gardens and a more complete preparation for the production of the family food supply In keeping with the food conservation program now under way women in rural sections and throughout the state are being Instructed on proper ways of food conservation Also flour substitutes and wheat substitutes are being given to various leaders who in turn are instructing In their communities and districts Under the present system of the extension service Mrs Peterson le the assistant director and has five specialists and 22 county home agents The plan is to put a home agent in
