| Show organize good baseball im team the stockholders of the eureka athletic Ag association held a meeting at the reporter office last friday I 1 evening at chich time the following directors were selected to handle the con pany s affairs for the ensuing year hugh heffernan james know les D D hanks herbert hopes and james crooks the directors held a meeting on tuesday evening and ap pointed fred shontz as manager of the baseball team tor for this season and C E hulsh as secretary and treasurer of the association in addition to this they also ap apt hinted a finance committee to solicit funds for equip ping the team for the seasons pla play ing this committee consists of fred shontz james gatley q p hu sh and J na morton everything indicates that eureka ft ill have cue one of the best teams in the state again this year already manager shontz has received a num ber her of letters from baseball players who are anxious to come to this city with the bunch of play ers who are already here as a starter it should be an easy matter to get a strong team I 1 11 I 1 the field within the next few weeks the first game for the local team will be played here one week from still day with the mammoth team |
