first fatal accident in the history of the dangerous Fish Lake dugway occurred at 9 30 a m Saturday when the car carrying Mr and Mrs Arthur F Rasmussen and three of their children of Mt Pleasant to the Seely family reunion at the lake resort plunged over the embankment and rolled 225 feet to the bottom of the PROVO 'a f U' ' 4 Li Mr Rasmussen suffered a fracture of the left foot' cuts and bruises while two of the children Dorothy and Norman 5 were badly cut and bruised The other child Wallace 3 was uninjured with the exception of bein gshaken up At the point where the accident occurred about five miles from Fish lake the road makes an abrupt curve to the left Mr Rasmussen had apparently negotiated the curve but came too close to the edge of the road along which there is no guard rail No one saw the accident but marks on the highway indicated the car was traveling slowly and the bank may have given away slightly or mechanical trouble with the car may have developed Both Mr and Mrs Rasmussen were thrown from the car about half way down the bank but It is thought the children were carried to the bottom Mrs Rasmussen apparently fell on her head and the car barely missed Mr Rasmussen when he was thrown over it A truck carrying other members of the party Including three other Rasmussen children were following the death car but the occupants did not see the accident When they stopped at the scene the car was barely visible through the brush Franjc Pace of Richfield on his way from Fish lake rushed to Burrville and called a doctor before Dr Bisch-of- f took the more seriously injured Mrs Rasmuspersons to Richfield sen's body was taken to the mortuary at Mantl In spite of his broken foot Mr Rasmussen and five other men carried his wife up the steep incline to the
