Show THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE SUNDAY MORNING STOCKS GO DOWN ON PROFIT TAKING Skeptical Shorts Add to Selling: Drive Commodities Ease Off NEW YORK June 6 (AP)— Stocks went back to the firing line today for a test against selling Profit-takin- g and offerings by skeptical shorts chipped away at the list during the two hours of quiet trading leaving final prices 1 to 3 points liqder the Friday close The turnover was 800000 shares It normally happens that after a strong advance particularly a quick sharp upturn such as was experienced this week the market has to undergo what Is technically known as secondary selling when profits are accepted on stocks bought at lower leveda and bears put out fresh lines on the theory that short covering has been temporarily exhausted The resistance to such reactions Is closely watched but the trend of a 6ingle day can hardly be called con- up Option Sold on Red Cloud Mine Announcement was made Saturday by G s Wilkin vice president of the Bed Cloud Mining company that an option on the company's property in American Fork canyon has been sold Mr Wilkin said he was not at liberty to divulge the Identity of the holders of the option The Red Cloud ds adjacent to the Yankee mine holdings on the nortlv east and the Alta Merger mines on the southwest The property consists of nine patented mining claims that were originally acquired by Colonel Michael Sliaughnessy and Matthew Cullen Work at the property has been centered on the Silver Bell fissure and It Is from the drift from the drain and the transportation tunnel along this fissure that the company has had its hopes for production The mine has-- a shipping record of nearly 6000 tons of ore which averaged about 25 per cent lead 60 ounces silver and 0715 ounces gold per ton Two Tlntlc mines declared their regular quarterly dividends Saturday when company directors met The Tlntlc Standard Mining company board authorized the payment of 10 cents per share and Eureka Standard voted the usual 3 cents per share The dividends are payable June 30 to stockholders of record June 19 Books will close for transfer purposes June 17 Tlntlc Standard's action calls for the disbursement of $11533150 and will bring the Company’s grand dividend total to $14055894 The Eureka Standard dividend will total $4498770 and will bring the grand total paid to $17995080 The Eureka Standard Is controlled by Tlntlc Standard Mining company which owns the majority of the outstanding stock Directors made no statement concerning mine operations Eureka Standard Is primarily a gold producer- while Tlntlc Standard Is essentially a mine -
