He weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and was 20 inches long. Nicholas is the son of Kirt and Linda Motta. Dad teaches American History and P.E. at Snowcrest Jr. High in Eden, and mom teaches 2nd grade at Mt. View Elementary in Ogden. O n November 21, 2 0 0 0 Christopher Brady was awarded his Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor held at the Huntsville Utah Stake Christopher Brady Center. Christopher is the son of John and Kim Brady of Eden, Utah and a tenth grade student at Weber High School. Chris has enjoyed five great years of scouting under his dad John Brady, his scoutmaster, the company of his brother Jonathan and the great community effort of the Eden II Ward. Christopher completed his Eagle project when he was 14 years old in 1998. He worked with his troop, Troop 238 organizing an effort to collect cash and food donations to provide Thanksgiving dinner to 15 abused and neglected children and their families. The feast included a large turkey and all the trimmings for each family. Christopher is very talented in art. He also loves snowboarding and is employed by Leisure Pool & Spa. His great sense of humor, sincere honest nature, integrity and loyalty are traits his family and friends know him by. He is the oldest brother in the family and is dearly loved for his caring actions. Connor Alexander Lindsay was born September 22, 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona. He weighed 10 lbs., 8 oz. Connor is the son of Skip and Julie Lindsay. He is the grandson of Bill and Sally Lindsay of Huntsville. Anniversaries Tom and Barbara Jordan of Liberty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on December 19, 2000. Tom was born in San Diego, CA and Barbara was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in Downey, CA. They met at USC in 1948 and were married in Long Beach, CA on December 19, 1950 at the All Saints Episcopal Church. They made Long Beach their home. They moved to Liberty in 1984 when Tom retired as a pharmacist for Los Angeles County and Barbara retired from the Long Beach Unified School District after teacher kindergarten for twenty five years. Tom now enjoys golfing whenever he can and Barbara works with the pre-school at Valley School. Their children are Jeff and Jeni Jordan of Eden and Steve and Chris of Salt Lake City. Their grandchildren are Codi, Dustin, John, Katie and Grace. Please send in your announcements & photos to: OGDEN VALLEY NEWS P O BOX 130 EDEN UT 84310 Obituaries Lewis Warren Richmond Jr. Lewis Warren Richmond Jr. better known as Uncle D.B. long time resident of Ogden Valley. Born January 27, 1928 was found in his home on November 20, 2000 by one of his friends that came by to check on him. He died of natural causes around November 16. He worked on the S.P. Railroad a little over 40 years, and retired in 1977. He was a Living Legend, and one of the more colorful sportsmen of the area. He will truly be missed. He was cremated and hopefully his remains will be scattered over one of his favorite hunting spots. He is survived by his four children; Craig, Shelly, Randy Richmond and Jill Goldsmith; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Helen R. Richardson Nielsen Helen R. Richardson Nielsen, age 85, passed away December 3, 2000, of causes incident to age. She was born May 26, 1915 in Molen, Utah to William H. and Edna R. Sommercorn Rasmussen. She attended Ogden City Schools, and graduated from Ogden High School. She married Leland C. Richardson October 3, 1932. They were sealed on May 2, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. She lived in Washington Terrace, Ogden, Huntsville, Hyrum, and North Ogden. Lee died August 11, 1980. She later married Paul A. Nielsen and moved to Hyrum. As her health gave way, she returned to Huntsville to live with her son and daughter-in-law. When they were called to El Salvador as an LDS Mission President, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in North Ogden, where she passed away. She was a member of the North Ogden 7th Ward. She was a very active and faithful servant in the LDS Church, holding many positions, including Relief New Listing! Open House Sat. Society President, Primary and Young Women’s teacher. She served two LDS Missions; Rochester New York Mission with Lee, and the Tampa Florida Mission with Paul. She also served as a Temple Worker in the Ogden and Logan LDS Temples. She and her sisters compiled a book on the Rasmussen Family and had it published. She had worked at the Children’s Nursery at Washington Terrace during World War II, at the Brenda Kent Sewing Mill, and HAFB, where she retired. Her hobbies included writing poetry, crocheting, sewing, fishing and actively supporting her husband, Lee, in the Scouting Program. She was a very sweet, loving and compassionate lady and mother. She enjoyed doing genealogy work and was very proficient in getting the work done for her ancestors. Surviving are two sons, Delwyn L. (Williamena) Richardson, Huntsville (presently serving in El Salvador); Danny G. (Brenda) Richardson, Malad, Idaho; and one daughter, Verlayne (Grant) Harris, North Ogden. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; by six stepchildren, Joe (Sandy) Nielsen, Judy (Glen) Erickson, David (Christa) Nielsen, Michael Nielsen, Richard (Connie) Nielsen, Annette (Karl) Mattson and 39 step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Leah Hopson, Mesa, Arizona, and one brother, Delwyn Rasmussen, Pacific Grove, California. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leland Richardson; her second husband, Paul Nielsen; one daughter, Marlene Kap Johnsen; one son-in-law, Gordon Kap; and her parents, one sister, one infant brother and one great grandson. The family would like to thank the Hospice Program for the compassionate service and care of our mother. Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery. 2445 N.
