Serve to Save 2020 a Huge Success! Sixth-graders say “thank you” By Sol Stewart, Valley 6th-grade student reporter This year’s Serve to Save Auction and Dinner was a huge success! We are happy to say that we raised over $11,500 for families in need of help. We would like to give our greatest thanks to the donors who helped us help the Tucker Family, who suddenly lost their father not so long ago; the Liam Brower Family—Liam being diagnosed with pediatric Neuroblastoma this past December on his 1st birthday; Boston Farr, our dear 5th-grader recovering from Juvenile Lymphoma; and, finally, three teenage girls from the Valley who were in a horrific car accident a little over a month ago. All three of them are still grateful for your help, and thoughts on their behalf. Of course, none of this could be possible without the amazing support from the following donors who provided the delicious meal that was served by Valley Elementary’s 6thgrade waiters and waitresses: • Snowbasin • Gray Cliff Lodge • Chris’s Restaurant • Eats of Eden • The Timbermine Restaurant • The Greenery • Valley Market • Jackson Fork Inn • Carlos & Harley’s Cantina • Valley Elementary’s own Kitchen • The Texas Roadhouse We would also like to thank the following for donations: • Chelee Boutique Clothing for the Unique Woman • Diamond Peak Mountain Sports • Emie James Accessories for Life & Home • Nordic Valley Ski Resort • Old Town Barber Shop • Valley PTO • Ogden Valley Pizza • Get Away Today Vacations • Mother Lovin’s Postpartum Care • Mack DeVries’s Metal Working • The Kuna Bistro • Red Bicycle • Boone Ties • The Bingham Families paper products & supplies Outdoor Rec. The entertainment was provided by the 6th graders themselves. There were individual talents and the entire grade sang “Livin’ on a Prayer.” (Just like Chicago did recently!) There were many people who participated (me included) and I would say that the audience quite enjoyed it. In the end we were very glad that we were able to help a few wonderful families in need. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Valley 6th-grade students perform at annual Serve to Save Dinner, and send a message of love to those whom they helped raise money for to help cover medical care.
