She was 86. She was born in Eden, Utah on March 29, 1932 to James Pierce and Ollie May Graham. She was the youngest of four daughters, and loved and missed her three sisters RuthMae Manning, Kathleen McFarland, and Millie Dunn. Although she left The Valley, her heart remained there. She loved taking drives up the canyon and pointing out all the places she loved as a child. Myrle attended Weber High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1950. She attended Weber College and received her degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. She loved drama and music classes and being active in many organizations. She has maintained many friendships from her days at each of these institutions. While attending Utah State, Myrle met Charles Moyes Ehmann. They were married June 30, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They started their lives together in Ogden, lived in South Ogden, Pleasant View, and most recently in North Ogden. Myrle loved children, and felt that her greatest role in life was being a mom to Leslie, Graham, and Robb. She waited a long time for them, and loved them tremendously. She sat through many a missed note at piano recitals, and “whooped” her lungs out at soccer, basketball, and baseball games. Later she helped raise all of her grandkids who gained a love of books and reading from her. Not only did she fill her role as mom expertly, she was able to influence the lives of countless students across Weber School District as a teacher. She had a fondness for sixth grad- Mike was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He carried his love of the scriptures with him all of his days. His “church briefcase” not only carried his cherished scriptures (color-coded, referenced and cross-referenced) but was home to his stash of lollipops, divvied out every Sunday to the ward children, which each he knew by name. Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably from 1963 to 1969. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal by the 3rd Marine Amphibious Force for wounds received in combat action in the Republic of Vietnam on August 24, 1967. Mike was a charismatic soul—quick to laugh, always charming, and one of the greatest storytellers of all. He had such a big heart; he would literally give a stranger the shirt off his back. Mike valued family and friends above all and did his best throughout all of his struggles in life to keep those relationships intact. He was a big fan of moose hugs and the mountains, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a proud cardcarrying member of the NRA. The mountains brought him much solace and peace, a place he regularly took his beloved Rottweilers for fishing and walks. Dad, we will miss you and we know you are now in peace without struggles, loneliness, and pain. We love you “up to the sky, down to the ground, round the world, round and round.” A graveside service in memory of Mike was held Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Eden Meadow View Cemetery, 5315 E. 2200 N., in Eden, Utah.
