Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.” Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch Ursula to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea. Performances will be held at Weber High School’s auditorium, 430 Weber High Dr., in Pleasant View. Theatre Director Mark Daniels, now in his eleventh year teaching drama at Weber, is known for producing professionallevel performances that audiences rave about. Toby was raised and educated in Ogden. He was a husband, father, son, brother, nephew, and friend to many. He attended Weber State University’s Law Enforcement Academy, and was passionate about law enforcement. He died of Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) on 10-07-09 at the young age of 35. Why the Name 10-07? Law enforcement uses the code 10-07 when signing off duty. Toby’s death on 10-07-2009 felt like a call to ensure those of us still on duty to continue his work. What We Are Trying to Do • Unify all of the beautiful people who have been honoring Toby since his death. • Build a venue for his young daughters Taylore and Samantha to engage with their father’s life, friends, and loved ones as they come of age. • Continue the work Toby started in life by supporting the ALS Association, building law enforcement leaders through education, and helping people find their own distinctive legacies. • Develop grants that will be made available at the local level.
