Letters to the Editor Thank You for Sharing your Talents & Supporting the Arts in Ogden Valley On behalf of Mountain Arts and Music, and all the people who came to listen to the songwriters’ workshop and concert on Saturday, January 14, I would like to thank Monty Powell and Anna Wilson for their generous contribution to the mission of our organization: Supporting the Creative Arts in Ogden Valley.” We are thrilled that you have decided to “land” here in this beautiful Valley, and share your amazing musical talents and genuine love for what you do! Trish Painter, Mountain Arts and Music Staff at Eden Post Office Send Final Letter in Honor of “First Class” Mail Carrier Joe Elmer Returned to Sender on January 23, 2017. We would like to Express our love and appreciation for this First Class carrier who, for the last eleven years, served at the Eden Post Office. Joe was a kind, loving per- son with a witty sense of humor who could make any day better, any dull moment fun, and a rainy day sunny. Joe enjoyed collecting and selling stamps. He was also an avid collector of coins. Joe always made delivering the mail a high Priority. Joe will be missed by all who knew him and by all who appreciated his service and dedication. A final Thank you, Joe, for making our lives fuller. Carry on Joe. You will be greatly missed by all of us at the Eden Post Office. Eden Post Office staff, Eden What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been! We’ve made it to the 15th anniversary of Eden Coffee & Cocoa—from our small beginnings with the little cart inside the Valley Market, to our little “Java the Hutt” outside the store. Well, fifteen years have snuck past us, and after lots of hard work we are still here. The shop has just been remodeled top to bottom and will be food ready shortly. It’s been an enormous pleasure getting to meet everyone, and we consider everyone in the entire valley to be our friends—whether you stop by for coffee or cocoa, or not. A lot has happened in these past fifteen years—the Olympics, the Powder Mountain town saga, and lots of growth, but the people of the valley are still the same, and that is awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being part of the community with us. I look forward to seeing you around the village Here’s to the next ten years! Deja & Drew, Boo, and all the coffee shop employees Zenergy Manual Therapy & Pilates Moves to New Ogden Valley Location I want to convey my profound thanks to the Ogden Valley community for its support of Zenergy Manual Therapy & Pilates, and my excitement for Zenergy’s next evolution. For the past ten years I’ve been blessed with your support at the lovely Peterson Builders location in Eden. You have seen my treatment skills and professional interests evolve. After years of extensive study, I am adding a teaching role of Visceral Manipulation to my professional skills. This manual therapy technique is akin to 3D massage—addressing muscle and bone, but also organs, nerves, and vessels. Its effects can be profound and many have experienced its great value. In support of my evolution into more teaching and to be more visible in the community, I will be changing my office location. As of February 14, Zenergy Manual Therapy and Pilates will reside upstairs in Eden’s beautiful Free Spirit Yoga studio. I feel it is a great fit, and I am very excited to be sharing space with a talented group of healing practitioners. There will be some changes with the equipment Pilates classes and the class schedule, but Who’s Afraid of Big Bad Donald Trump? Apparently, a whole bunch of people are afraid—judging from the thousands (maybe millions) who demonstrated recently. They had mixed agendas and not all were anti-Trump; some were there for the publicity and notoriety, choosing to use language that would make a sailor blush. Still, others made verbal threats that may get them in trouble with the Secret Service. Protestors called for equality and the right to bear a child—or not. There seems to be a tidal wave of fear, much of it churned up by social media and Hollywood-types and anarchists in progressives’ clothing. For some, Trump will take away all of our rights and those who chose to come to this country illegally. Immigration is foisted as a right of everyone, which it may be—if done legally. At least the protest march was great fun and drew lots of attention. As for me, I’ll put my trust in our system of government with its “checks and balances.” While at times Trump may sound very crude and demanding, he will have to abide by the laws of the land know the same quality of care and commitment to your well-being will continue in this new space. My success in this valley is because of your consistent and ongoing support, and it is with heart-felt gratitude that I say thank you! I look forward to supporting your wellness goals in the years to come. Presidents have often overstepped their authority, only to be corrected by our system of government. Justice is in the eye of the beholder. Why not give Trump and our system of government a chance?
