Show Page 12 The Ogden Valley news Volume XXIII Issue IX March 15, 2016 Snowcrest Skyhawks of the Month Valley Elementary 6th Grade Enjoys The December Skyhawks of the Month are Snowcrest students who have been selected by their teachers based on “Conscientious.” The “Skyhawks” were invited to eat lunch in the conference Fieldtrip to State Capitol room, and played a game identifying old and new cartoon characters. Teachers vote on students By Valley Elementary student reporters in every department, and there is one boy and one girl selected from each grade, who is then Jane Paul & Corinna Healey recognized as “Skyhawk of the Month” for their excellence above and beyond. Congratulations to the following students: On Tuesday, March 1, Valley Elementary sixth-grade students had the privilege of visiting the Utah State Capitol while the Legislature was in session. Who should be there to greet the students and their teachers but Senator Allen Christensen and Representative Gage Froerer! Sixth-grade teacher Michelle Evans stated, “Our music specialist Mr. Dan White organized the trip to the capital and Abravanel Hall. “We are grateful to Sen. Christensen and Rep. Froerer for giving the fieldtrip their personalized touch by showing us around the capitol building. We even got to watch part of the Utah State Legislature’s meeting and were announced there. Students thought that the capitol building was very beautiful. The ceiling had stunning paintings, and the marble floors were pretty. How much time he has after his studies will be the determining factor as to whether he continues racing or not. His training schedules and details are sent to him every day from his coach Dario Fredricks, who is the team coach for Whole Athlete. He is from Marin County California. Anders’ Garmin and power meters, which is made by Quarq, record all of his data associated with his training rides. All of this data, including power data, is then transmitted to his coach every day after being downloaded. Anders is currently a member of the Whole Athlete /Specialized Cycling team.
